'No Man's Sky' To Get "Biggest Update Yet" And Xbox One Release

Released back in 2016 for the PS4 and PC, the space exploration game is set for an Xbox One release and a free update dubbed NEXT on all platforms, its "biggest update so far".

“We called this update NEXT, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community,” writes Sean Murray, Hello Games co-founder. “We’ve been working our socks off on this and it’s by far our biggest update so far. It will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”

“We’ve learned a lot over the last few years, faster than we would have liked! I’d love to avoid talking completely and just make things people can play, but we knew this was going to leak anyway, and I think it’s news that should make a lot of folks happy,” Murray added.

The title will also be enhanced for the Xbox One X with HDR and 4K support. Xbox players will get all existing updates for the game, including the Foundation, Pathfinder, and Atlas Rises. The game is also launching in China on Tencent’s platform WeGame.

No Man Sky is coming to Xbox One in summer 2018 along with the NEXT expansion, a free update which also releases for PS4, PC and WeGame.

Sadly, the damage has been done. I applaud Hello games trying to fix their mistake but they are beating a dead horse at this point.
My recommendation is that now that they have "Fixed" No Man's Sky, they should put their "talent" in another title. I believe at this point they have proven that they do want to make "good" games and have shown that through all these updates they are hauling out, but it may be time to move on to a new title....... hopefully a less ambitious one. I'm not saying game developers shouldn't be ambitious, I'm saying Hello Games shouldn't be ambitious.

I will give them credit for actually trying to fix their game and make it into a game their players and other want to play unlike some other companies *cough*Bungie*cough* and their games *Cought*Destiny2*cough*

For older players, it's hard to say if this or even anything they do will be enough to bring them back.
But for someone like me who haven't played the game yet and looking to do so in the future, it's looking better and better.

The game already got a bad fame. This won't solve anything at all, regardless of what they add.

Lots of respect for sean Murray for stepping up to the plate and doing what is correct. A lot of other developers would have just let the game be in the current state it released but props for them bringing out updates enhancing the game and the experience. It's not my cup of tea but good to see for the people who do play this game. Hope they learned a lot about past mistakes and bring out a new better game thanks to that in the future.

I got it on day one and enjoyed it for what it was... sure it could’ve been much better but I had my fun on the first 20 or so planets. Since then I’ve been playing other games whilst keeping an eye on this to see what would come of it.

I think it shows a lot of integrity that they’re trying to fix the game that they tried to make, rather than dropping it and trying to make another game whilst pretending that mark of shame didn’t happen.

Anyway, if I get bored of Monster Hunter World and Mario v Rabbids, I’ll give NMS another try.

Oh cool! I must've missed this on ye ol' Reddit. Always excited to see another update for this game, can't wait to see what they've been up to since 1.3. :)

Coincidentally I just got back into it, so it's a perfect time for an update to drop (Or be teased in this case).
