Well i finally played Diamomd. It's not bad. just the only problem: Battle with(out) animations are slow. just that's the poblem. why most hate that gen or that game? :/
also PREPARE YOURSELF FOR BATTLE YOUR RIVAL IN 3D.
[i forgot the rival name lmao]
You should play platinum instead. It fixes that problem and has a better story tie in.

Yes I would like to be able to play Gen 4 but it's too freaking slow and I own Platinum before people say "oh play platinum that fixes that" No it doesn't it's still far too slow

I think it's not a matter of questioning if those games will be ever remade, but when will they be remade and for what systems.

i'd rather see remakes for diamond and pearl over this ultra sun and ultra moon trash. playing sun and moon gave me a new found love for gen 4, and i previously didn't like gen 4 that much at all

I found the original Pearl and Diamond to be pretty boring,so id be happy about a remake that improves alot, especially the pace.
The Pace is a real shame, since the game introduced alot of good things, but its just way too slow
I ended up being so bored after the second gym that I just cheated myself to the league after it.
Its a wonder I never got cruzifided despite hating Gen IV but loving Gen V

Seems that the remakes possibly skip a handheld generation, rather than being alternated between main series games:
GB - > Red, Green -> GBA (Skip GBC)
GBC - > Gold, Silver -> DS (Skip GBA)
GBA -> Ruby, Sapphire -> 3DS (Skip DS)
DS -> Diamond, Pearl - > Switch? (Skip 3DS?)

If we don't see a DP remake on the Switch, then I'd guess they've given up on remakes for the time being. I think this is unlikely though.

Pokemon game was announced for Switch at Nintendo@E3 so it's highly likely we will get a remake of Diamond and Pearl.

No... I do love Sinnoh and reasons made me back to love the series again.
This is why I don't want remake, I'd rather get a new adventure happening there with the characters having something on the history (just like red and green on GS games), something new to do there! not just a "reboot" of the history with some extras... the actual games are very playable like they are, could be improved? yes (and BW showed us that it could have been very better lol) but no real reason, a brand new story happening there would be even better than just a remake

I'd rather they work on a new game instead y'know....?? Remakes are OK, but new stuff is better.
That said, GenIV was the time both my lads were old enough to play the game, so had a fantastic time trading and battling, even doing weekly tournies with them (and the missus), with a leaderboard made on my comp, prize for the winner etc, and subsequent Pokemon games never hit that high note (lads are now teenage PC Master race snobs) ...so for a trip down memory lane aye why not I'll take a remake.
But sorry lads, on Switch for me, fukk the 3DS.....:P

It'll never happen on the 3DS. SuMo engine has hit the limits of the N3DS hardware, and I don't even want to imagine its effect on the poor o3DS hardware.

I would love to see a Gen IV remake! Platinum was my first Pokemon game, and no Pokemon experience (for me) has topped it since.
I remember just running around for hours, using GTS, and playing games with people in the Wi-Fi plaza... Such good times. I have like 300 hours into the game, I think.
