The random extra battlefield next to the homerun contest has a very weird item spawn list.
It spawns giant primed bomb-ombs(like the ones from 3DS smash run) that are super powerful, different? smart bombs, hammer heads, and a ray gun shot.

Once I finish with my experiments, I'll make a pack that adds the interesting stages to the extra stages section with SSPs and upload the pack to gamebananna.

Adding to this. I was able to make the trophy display levels function like a normal stage by adding the Wiifit Studio collision data to it. Also there's plenty of totally unused, but functional SSS cosmetics and a mymusic entry could probably be added for these unused stages without too much trouble.
I feel that with a little bit of legwork, the trophy display levels, the custom move testing stage, and the Wifi waiting room could be turned into fully functional extra stages without actually breaking anything, or at least anything that matters.

Also every single omega stage is actually a completely different stage ID, so you could probably use Battlefield's, Town and City's, and Smashville's omega stages as extra stages and just set them to use their default stage layout as their omega form.

Any idea why i cannot change the DLC Characters icons after making them not DLC so i can move them on my character select screen?

I figured out how to pirate the stages, not that it really matters since I already bought them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's more difficult to do than it is with characters, but it's still really easy. I'm not going to explain how, so you guys will just have to figure it out yourselves.

Anyways. Progress report. I should have a pack ready and up on Gamebananna in a few hours. It won't include the Homerun Contest, Target Blast, or Credits Roll stages since they crash. It also won't have cosmetics until I make them.

I'll also upload all of my stage parameter research once I upload the pack. It will make it really easy to figure out how to pirate the DLC stages, but whatever.

Online Practice Stage
The Equipment Testing Stage
The Trophy Rush Stage
Playable versions of the 4 trophy display areas that you use for screenshots
The Trophy award scene that shows up after Classic and Allstar.
The Trophy Hoard platform

And for the hell of it.
A different version of the Trophy rush stage that has weird collision and non-solid Trophy Rush boxes in the middle.
A completely black stage that all the fighters immediately die on.
And a totally empty Custom Stage map.

I'll have two versions of the pack. One with and one without those last three.

Edit: Actually scratch those last three. When the second stage page has too many icons, the SSPs get all screwed up for some reason.
I'll just set the weird Trophy Rush stage as an omega stage for the other Trophy Rush stage. The other two are technically unplayable so I will just leave them out.

So what exactly are we not capable of in terms of smash mods right now? It seems we're capable of most of the important stuff, sans custom meshes.

so splatoon and mariokart 8 both have official discords. Does smash have one yet? I cant seem to find one and smash is the most fun game to mod.

You can probably set a stage up to load up an alternate layout, or even a whole new stage entirely, but I haven't played around with that.

Not sure if this has been asked in this thread, but I can't seem to find it through the search function.
How does one do model swaps? I've tried simply repacing the characters' files, but Sm4sh simply crashes when
it tries to load the replaced files.

Export all the files in model/c00 of the fighter's model you want to replace another model with, then just replace c00 or whatever costume slot you want on the fighter you want replaced.

Thanks for the confirmation. That's exactly what I was trying actually, I guess all the fighters I've been trying are simply incompatible.

What fighters were you trying to replace? If you were replacing only fighters with other fighters, it should work just fine.

ok, so i have my mod all done and finished, but i'm using cafiine pc. Where do i put everything? I have my release folder with the data folder inside and all that other stuff. I'm supposed to have ("\0005000010144F00\patch\patchlist"). What do i rename? How do i get those directories. Never done smash wii u modding, only really familiar with the 3ds.

I tried putting Lucas over Ness, because of how similar they are. I've also tried Megaman over Falcon, and Marth over Link, but nothing has actually worked so far.
