Hm, I might've accidentally tried with a region-free game, and set USA with Hans. I'm testing now...

I used region free CIA with EUR.

If you're doing it correctly your file sizes should also be the same.

I think I'm getting closer. The game says loading save data, but after that it turns black- both screens.

Same problem I had. You need to have both the romfs and the code file, it seemed 100% unstable otherwise. Make sure theres no old save game as well.

Once I got past that the first time, it seemed stable while having both of them. Just keep trying, I guess.

Filesizes are exactly the same and I've put everything where it should be yet I'm still having problems with it kicking me back to the menu.

I've no idea, I used proc's instructions exactly and it just all worked. Now I repeat the process and it works. I'm on Browserhax + N3DS + Physical cart for the games. No issues at all whatsoever now.
