The method works identically to provide eshop and system transfers. See compatibility in the first post.
The issue is that 9.6 implemented a newer version of system transfer, so @vipernig will not be able to transfer.

Can confirm I systransfered my O3DS to my N3DS using this method on both. I made a guide as this is great for transferring from sysNAND to sysNAND. If you want to transfer emuNAND to emuNAND you can use the MultiPatcher CIA.
Hello! Quick question/confirmation. Will this work with a virgin 9.2 3ds that has never had anything to do with Gateway/CFW/Emunand? I'd like to stay at 9.2 for future CFW advancements, but I would like to access eShop. Thanks!
Yes this will work, you just need to copy the needed files and have a copy of Cubic Ninja to launch the exploit for it to work.
Does this still work for O3DS? Been trying got like 15 minutes to get on the eShop - im on 9.2.0.20E.

Yes it still works. Make sure you copy ALL items to the SD card. I ran into the same issue, but O3DS requires two files I think, not just the one.
I did, ive tried 20 times now I think ill try freemultipatcher, but I really hate installing stuff to my sysNAND...
Looks like there could be an issue with your version, I know it's 9.0 vs 9.2, but still could be an issue. I'd read through the posts more to see if they found a solution, or PM the OP:
I went ahead and used freemultipatcher and got what I needed, forgot GW could enable sysNAND mode.
9.2, followed old 3ds method (zelda 3dsxl), had both files in root of sd card, went to the proper url after clearing cookies and history, pressed home after "error loading" went away, says error has occurred and app must be shut down, open shop, still ask for me to update when I access the shop. Sadness.
This hack is living on borrowing time. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Why, what is going to happen to it ? Do you mean that it's going to get patched at some point ? It's been out for 4 months, still not patched.
Of course it's going to get patched. nintendo is just slow but they'll get around to it.
Well it's not that I'm using e-shop that much anyway, I remember I downloaded Zelda OOT 3 months ago to try the Gateway save file on it, and now downloaded Ironfall Invasion, that's all I used e-Shop for xD

So, I have a 9.9 New 3DS that I use, and a unused 9.0 New 3DS, can I use this to transfer my 9.9 system to the 9.0 one by spoofing a higer firmware on it, or does the original firmware version need to be compatible?, which it isnt according to the list.
