yeah, played through it entirely in Japanese. took a bit of trying with my limited knowledge of the language but I beat the game.

I have it in Japanese too, no idea what to do now. Someone mentioned a tamer rank needing to be raised and i have no idea whats going on. I'm looking forward to understanding the game and starting a new file, find all the plates and kick some butt!

I also played through it entirely in japanese. I know absolutely nothing of japanese but I love digimon and this one was the best one they ever made. I tried playing it a little again for nostalgia and I was surprised I figured out so many things by trial. After you beat the game there are some challenge fights that I couldn't beat. Most importantly, it was only after I played the game for a very long time that I figured out you need to get good rating on cleaning the digimon plates to be able to unlock all of their abilities, I had some super mega digimon that I was waiting to get their best abilities and I couldn't anymore, that sucked.

I'm looking forward to playing this game again in english.

Come on guys, don't be rude to each others.

I think you can discuss the game here, or any Digimon related thing, but please be sure to mention the game or anime you are talking about. Because even I was confused when you talked about "Alpha Patch" of Digimon Adventure PSP. I thought there was someone who tries to spread a translation by his own for DSLE.

Also, about the translation, I was too busy in the last 2-3 weeks and I couldn't insert much text in the game. So, there is no update in the main post till now.
I hope that I will have more time in the next few days and will able to insert more. The translators are fixing some issues in the translation right now.

So, I will not expect a patch before 2 months "at least" depending on when I finish the insertion and how the testing will go.

Thanks for the updates Yugix. No worries, just glad to hear everything is still going strong.

As for the game mechanics, if you 100% a plate after you have the Digimon evolve into it, if you degenerate thend evolve again, will you gain the move?

Happy New Year and all that.

I've been busy but the short version is that Byuu and I are ping ponging translations on the older entries back and forth while Yugix puts the text in the game. I have no idea how far Yugix is on that front. If it is really getting bogged down I can lend a hand doing that. I just need the tools and instructions. I understand it is a slow process, though.

EDIT> That only concern I have after that is that Byuu and I are changing older translations that may or may not have been put into the game. Everything we have touched has a mark in the comments field, but still, I hope it doesn't lead to confusion when inserting text into the game (what has been done vs. what needs to be redone)

Oh, unrelated, but I also got a GCW Zero, finally (heavy import tax and shipping costs, though). I'll write about that sometime.

Quick question. I've checked through Byuu's suggestions and fixes except for the row 2500-3000 range (everything else from 1 to 4800 or so should be okay...I hope?), but there is one thing bugging me.

For the Digimon "stats" (Strength, HP, MP, etc.), are they normally referred to as "stats" or "parameters", because I currently see both in use in the translation file. What do the other Digimon games use?

That's what I thought, thanks.

I'm about half-way through the huge 2500-3000 row block of text that needs proofreading but that should finish soon, within a day or so if I don't finish it all tonight.

One concern I have now that I have poked around the file is that I distinctly remember three rows were blank, they were restored from the original Japanese dump of the text, I put something in there, and recently I saw those same three rows blank again. I'm going to have to check some of my most recent changes before these current ones to make sure all the changes are intact and nobody did something catastrophic like copy/paste an entire local copy of the spreadsheet over the google docs data and blew away all the changes. (Edit> I think Byuu put those back in place (the Japanese) so I'll just whip up the English fields and get back to checking the last half of that block I was checking). Come to think of it, some of the earliest rows were looking a bit rough. Maybe I should look at those later, too.

No worries. If anything terrible happened, I always have local backups in case of emergency anyway.
