Hi, can anyone explain me the installation of this emu?

1) where should I but bios.bin, ISOs and mp3s? Maybe inside the "neocd" folder in the root of SD?
2) Bios must be named NEOCD.bin ?
3) ISOs must be extracted?

Cheers

the emulator you download goes in the apps folder on your sd
yes you must rename the bios and it goes into a bios folder on the root of your card
neocd folder is where you put all your games ,, also in the root of your card / after you get your games in /if you get error no IPL use a program to extract it from your iso like winrar or 7 zip etc.. all these files stay in your game folder per game.
in every game you will make a mp3 folder per game and place all the mp3 per game into each folder for each game. there is a program in this thread that will make renaming these fast and easy . a few pages back.3
each mp3 has to be labeled as suggested in the original doc that comes with emulator , also do not put spaces between track02 this is how your mp3 should look track02 -track27

I hope this helps ,, great emulator ,, if you would like a killer forwarder for this great emulator check mastershoes thread in this forum he has a great forwarder for this..

Wiimpathy + Jacobeien i have just started following and using NeoCD-Wii , im stoked with it. I must say the progress from 0.4 to 0.5 is superb...... the Progressive Video mode looks great and the other additions are phenomenal i cant wait for future releases of NeoCD-Wii

keep up the good work

Is everyone running this emulator off an SD card? I can only get it to work there, not on USB.
When I try to run this emulator off USB it can't find the games and errors out with the message>>>>>
the error is NO IPL! Press A to Continue

my directory structure looks good

application location
USB:/apps/neocd

bios
USB:/bios/NeoCD.bin

games (ALL EXTRACTED files with mp3 in mp3 subdir)
USB:/neocd/GAME1
USB:/neocd/GAME2

*********************************************EDIT********************

NEVERMIND I read this thread some more and found out to just change

on neocd.xml in the USB:/apps/neocd

thanks for the emulator!!

FullMetal i was having problems in 0.5 to enable USB storage but followed your tips and its now working.......thanks for that

One problem ive figured is with Baseball Stars 2 the Music plays but is a bit broken up and stutters slightly , maybe the Dev /s of NeoCD-Wii can work on it in the future.

btw i am using a Sandisk USB Stick to test BS2 , also i have tested the game running off a Sandisk SD Card and the problem was absent.

edit and update..............

I have used my USB Hard Drive that has 2 Partitions on it , i put Baseball Stars 2 on one and tried that thinking it may fix the Audio stuttering but unfortunately not i hope the Dev /s of NeoCD-Wii check this post out and maybe fix it in a later version

hi scene , i have softmodded 3 Wii's today and the softmod files contained ios 202 which the emulator supports. I was testing Baseball Stars 2 on a Wii that doesnt have ios 202 on it , so i re-encoded the MP3's to Baseball Stars 2 with the below parameters and tested it on one of the Wii's with ios 202

Lame -S --noreplaygain -b 128 - %d

The game ran sweet , no Music skipping or stuttering.............

i hope this helps the Dev /s and people using the emulator

Hi. I've decoded my mp3's from Real Bout Garou Densetsu. I've used Lame Front-End 1.6 with these parameters:

C:\Program Files\pazera-software\Lame_Front-End\lame.exe --freeformat -b 128 -m s --noreplaygain

As result - nothing has changed...

Any ideas?

Also, s8n, could you make a FAQ, that explains, how you get your files decoded (program, steps, etc)?

I'm running a softmodded US NTSC Wii with composite cables (yellow wire). When I set the neocd-wii emulator (v5) to progressive or interlaced video, the screen turns black and white, putting it back on auto brings color back. I would like to run it in progressive mode as I am using an SDTV and it looks best to me in this mode with other emulators. Is this possible to fix?

Neo-CD redux does not recognize any manual changes I do to neocd.xml
I'm trying to change "storagedevice" value from "0" to "1", sd to usb.
Booting from sd or usb always gives default values.
Wii has ios 58 and 202 with base 38/60
Here is dir structure:
"sd:/apps/neocd/neocd.xml", "usb:/apps/neocd/neocd.xml"
"sd:/neocd", "usb:/neocd"
"sd:/bios", "usb:/bios"
1 HDD in usb:0 with two partitions. First is FAT32, second is WBFS.
Neo-CD redux can access games on usb, but only through "game settings" after booting games on sd.
Thought it was my xml so I used mastershoes' pastie and... nothing
anyone run into this problem?

~Thank you wiimpathy from this wonderful addition. :mthr:
Great Job!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be bother guys, got it working
My xml tree was clear as mud
Now where did I place my neogeocd collection...IronClad here I come.

The emulator is looking for a neocd folder on sd card by default. Try changing this in your neocd.xml in apps/neocd :

0 for games on SD card

to

1 for games on USB

You can also change the default games folder in the xml file by replacing the value="neocd/" by value="YourFolder/".
I'm sorry, I didn't put any alternative in this case, and it's impossible as it is, to change these values in the emu.

Is it possible to run this fully off of USB1? Everything works fine when I run it off of SD, but when I launch it from USB it says "no bios available".

I've included the storagedevice value of 1 in my neocd.xml file:
Code:
<setting name="storagedevice" value="1" description="Storage Device" />

USB1 is formatted FAT32, I have my neocd.bin in the usb1:/bios directory. I'm running mame, snes9x_gx, and other emulators from USB1 just fine.

When I copy my /apps/neocd, /neocd, and /bios to an SD card and launch it from there, everything works fine. ???

Any ideas?

Thanks!

*** Figured it out... cIOS202 (usb2 support) is your friend. :)
