Nice screens so far although the first screen would read much smoother if it said "I will find out which look suits you best for the World of Maple."

Just kidding. It's always good to support developers (did I say I'm also a game developer ?.. no ?)

Oh my god. I'm so tired. I've been working on the monster list in the translation. It's basically done. A few the translators should check over because i couldn't get some of them. Happy to have made this project go faster though.

the problem with doing a game like this is by the time you are done with the patch, the game will basically be already out in english and then NO one will use this patch. So as much as we may appreciate it, you're ultimately wasting thousands of hours of your life.
not really because people and nexon said that "maplestory ds" is not going to be released in the u.s. or anywhere else in english or any other language. so yea..... SO they would be a BIG help to us if we don't know korean and the patch would BE VERY POPULAR. so i hope they finish the translation and come out with the patch quick

I have a request:

If you are a Korean speaker with weak English,
or an English speaker who can only use translating machines,
PLEASE keep away from the storyline translation.
Thank you.

On Google docs, is it okay to replace Swordsman 1 with my translation?
I read over the other translation on it and I'm not sure if someone pulled a babelfish.
Sometimes it's correct, but sometimes it's totally off.

Can a Korean read over it when they have time?
Korean is actually not my first language and seeing a lot of Koreans here I am losing confidence in my translations.

~~

Note about Japanese translation:
It's faster, much faster than translating to English.
They share same grammar structure.

I′m sorry..
because of my personal things, I may not be able to continue on our project.
I know this excuse is not enough.
I will still check translation while I can, but don't expect that too much.
DarkFrost,DN and Sedicius + all of you guys.. I'm really sorry..

Nah don't worry about it! You did a find job translating many items for us.
I appreciate the time you put into the work you completed, and believe me its already been added into the game

Okay so I finished up hacking some more translations, yet I've encountered a problem.

Some names will not fit in the text boxes. So in the store a name like Wooden Samurai Sword, would be cut to Wooden Samurai Swo.
So I think I may try and shorten names like that. For example I would just call that sword Samurai Sword. It may not be the proper name, but the idea gets across and you can identify what it is. Lemme know what you think... real names that get cut off, or slightly altered names that look right.

Btw I'll be posted 3 more screens in a bit.

Maybe you can use short-forms? Sword = Swd, Dagger = Dgr, Staff = Stf...ect??

What about using "Wood Samurai Sword"?
It's not 100% match, but it sounds better than "Wooden Samurai Swo" or "Wooden Samurai Swd" and all are 18 characters long.

This is where having a good, dedicated editor comes in handy

Its settled then. I believe short forms take away from the professionalism of the game, since a real port of the game would not use this.

So I'll go with the original plan and re-type long names to similar names that sound the same.

e.g Wooden Samurai Sword - Wood Samurai Sword
Brown Hard Leather Top - Hard Leather Top

I have a feeling there's going to be grammar/spelling mistakes.

You should change the "Than" in the part where you create your character to "Then" unless you already have.
