I've decided I'm not translating the whole game, but will stop translating text after the Elite 4. I just figure why make a full translation of a game that will be released here, when I could be translating a game that has less of a chance of coming over. So yeah, the translated text will stop after Lance probably.
wow! are you serious? thats still a shitload translated. i am definitely not complaining about that. if i were you, i would have stopped a long time ago. good luck on your other translations magnius...

Half the people here wouldn't appreciate a full translation anyway. Many people don't have respect for how long it takes to translate ALL THE NPC's, ALL THE STORY and ALL THE ITEMS. Then after all that's translated some idiots still want to complain. It's not worth the time to do a full translation. You want a full translation wait till Spring.

I figure if I'm going to spend my time on a project and people are still not being appreciative, it should be a project that probably won't get released here.

awww, I was really looking forward to the effect status's and Items/descriptions to be translated along

. Oh well I guess I'll have to wait till spring. Thanks for your work that you have given until now, Much Appreciated

Ok heres how it works.

If its april for America itll be May for Australia and the about a week or 2 for europe.

And Wataru-kun its ok that you have decided to drop the project, i knew this was gonna happen if the negativity continued.

I think Europe will get the game before Australia. That's how it was before with all of the other games including Pokemon

Well, I guess its the end for this patch at least we get to see some of the gameplay before the game comes out.

It's sad as well, what would happen if this patch was completed 100%. I would have liked to see that.

Anyways, Bravo Watarukun. You did great in patching the game and I will always admire your work.

Looking foward to playing the final patch!

Well, it's like I said, most people just wouldn't appreciate the full translation.

I do all this freaking hard work and several people show no respect for it.

People who have ZERO KNOWLEDGE OF JAPANESE want to criticize my translations. I do all this hard work and people with NO respect rate down my videos. Just got a little tired of that that's all.

So my thing is if you people want a god damned perfect translation, wait, because after I translate up to the Elite 4, I'm done.

It's amazing the amount of disrespectful, ignorant critics and trolls there are on the internet. Makes me feel like I do days of hard work, just to be criticized by some ignorant n00b who has no right to criticize anyone.

I see why Kazo and Ryqib quit, it's just not worth it to do a full translation.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. And everyone has a right to have their own opinion even if you dont think its right. "n00b who has no right to criticize anyone" You may feel like he has no right, but guess what, its his opinion on how he feels about your translation. If your looking for E-Fame do something like Numa Numa or Starwars Kid.

Wow, popping in after a while to see how far along this is (I was waiting on it to get further before I started using it, because I prefer to play in one long run rather than in monthly episodes). Really disappointed that it's been dropped. This was by far the best project of them all with the most love put into it.

Wataru, there are far more people who appreciate your work than you probably think. The people who complain are always the most vocal while the people who don't are busy enjoying what you made. You shouldn't halt progress just because of what some people said in a forum thread. The best way to go about these kinds of projects is to never get involved with the arguments. When you get involved, you feel directly hurt and the people who set out to complain succeeded. If you ignore them, then they eventually quit and they walk away dejected because they didn't get to you.

Your project isn't going to be totally useless after the English versions come out, either. The Japanese versions of the game get different wi-fi events and different promotions, so being able to access all of that in a game where you can actually read everything is very useful. I personally play through two copies of every Pokemon game that comes out: one in Japanese and one in English. I only do this so that I can have access to the full spectrum of promotions and bonuses, and since I have few friends I like to play through the corresponding versions to get all the Pokemon anyway. It's always been a hindrance having one of those games be in unreadable Japanese each time, and having it all in English is truly a Godsend. I'll probably be using your patch long after the true English version is out.

But alas, I guess it's impossible to make you reconsider if you're already angry and in the quitting mood. I just hope you know that you did a service to the community and that on behalf of the better side of that community, I thank you for it.

I thought you were quitting because you didn't feel like doing it. If your quitting because of people putting your work down, then you should really reconsider. For one because there are lots of people who appreciate your work, including me and several of my friends who aren't members of this web site.

There will never be work that you do that EVERYONE appreciates, no matter what it is. A good example is my senior prom for this year, one of my teachers bust her ass to get us a good place at senior prom this year because the person who usually does it moved to another state, she stayed up late calling places, arranging for meetings and everything else to help our senior class. After she finally found and booked us a spot, there was a select few who were complaining about the spot she picked, while there was even more people who loved the place and was grateful that we had a place at all. She basically told the people who didn't like it don't go to prom, and that she did it for the people who do like the place.

I think you should be the same way, do it for the people who do appreciate your work. The people that are rooting for you and flip off the people who don't like or appreciate your work, because you aren't making the patch for them, it's available if they want it, but your doing it for the people who do appreciate your work.

PLEASE RECONSIDER

My suggestion would be, either:

Continue the translation in private after finishing up to the Elite Four or set up a private site/forum totally devoted to the translation by invite only to those who honestly care about the translation.

Anyway, it's only an idea of course...

Or if the opinion is clearly wrong and ignorant. As if the person is criticizing a translation when A. The person hasn't looked at the Japanese script and B. The person doesn't know jack about Japanese but criticizes translation. Some opinions are plain ignorant. If I don't think it's right? More like if the opinion is clearly ignorant. You don't have a right to criticize someone who translates, if you A. Haven't looked at the original script and B. Don't know Japanese. If you haven't done THOSE things then ANY criticism you give to a translator is ignorant.

He may have a right, but his opinion is pretty much going to be useless and ignorant.

That's like me telling a Spanish to English translator "LOLZ YOUR TRANSLATION ARE WRONG" when I don't know shit about Spanish. It's plain ignorance.

*from behind a bunker*
Great job Watarukun! Don't worry about th-
*gunfire*
-the highly opinionated, but strangely misplaced people that can't understand that people doing things for free can do whatever th-
*explosion*
-whatever the hell they want and don't need someone doing nothing, but applying a patch (which people still complain about), to play a game that is going to be released in English.
*Radio static*
Instead of complaining about "this translation sucks" or "why don't you just finish all of it", if Watarukun didn't start his translation,
*Radio clears up*
YOU WOULDN'T HAVE ANY ENGLISH TRANSLATION THAT IS GOING AS FAR AS WATARUKUN'S...oh the static is gone, probably shouldn't have yelled in the radio.

Oh yeah, just came up with a sort of amusing idea xD, you should name your next patch "Magnius's SoulSilver Translation v1.337 patch" (just a joke).

--edit--
xD pretty fail of me to have a typo in "MagNius's", fixed now though

I suppose this translation has had it's ups and downs as of late. Including people on this forum (as well on Youtube) who have shown no respect for what Watarukun has been done so far with this translation.

It feels much like a war zone in a way, with people saying this and people saying that about this translation.

Although, at least there have been some good, fair comments about this translation (including from myself).

man whatever has happened hasn't been too good in terms of the translation projects (English of course), from the beginning everyone seems to have just run out of steam coz of all the unnecessary coments starting from Raqib12 to KazoWar and now even Magnius.. I hoped that atleast this project wouldn't be stopped in between, well anyway thanks for all the hard work WataruKun..

Let's pray for souls like this people. People like this are an example of how sad some trolls can be. Pray for them.

Just kidding, let those trolls rot in hell like they deserve. Maybe they'll learn some respect there.

hey watarkun, if you dont wanna do it, dont do it... as i said, all the way up to the elite 4 is still a gigantic job and im sure it will be done well. you dont deserve the kind of disrespect people have been giving you. im sure that everyone here can wait until the stateside release. after all, we're almost ALL getting it for free its amazing that most people cant even appreciate that

(no this is not reverse psychology, i always mean what i say)
