So I should just burn the iso without any modification?
I'm asking because this is the first time I use a non NTSC/U game on my Wii. I'm going to try a NTSC/J game.

The only reasons to patch .isos before burning:
- playing games from disc channel AND no update skip hack is installed(the ONLY reason for brickcrap)
- patching the region to play the game in the disc channel(beware most region patchers are epic failures)

- game modifications(english patch for Metroid Prime 1 for example)
- patching to use IOS249 for IOS Reloading games

Hi there,

My issue was loading game from USB drive not from Disc. It works for all games if game launched from Disc by NeoGamma. I can install game on USB drive from Disc, but I can't run it. I got black screen when I launched game using USB Loader GX, and It hanged on game launching screen for NeoGamma. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Does this loader block updates so i dont have to brickblock the backups?

In general: Loader == brickcrap will only cause problems.

I Played a real copy and a backup copy of Guitar Hero Smash hits and The Wii Channel wanted a updated in the channel, Neogamma, skipped the update when loaded.

I love the loader! Thanks for all your work. Just one request: Any way you might be able to fiddle with the Ocarina source to get around the 256 line limit? That's definitely a feature lacking in all backup loaders, and wanted by all Super Smash Bros. Brawl players (for Brawl+). I don't see GeckOS ever releasing the new version's source code.

To be honest i do not really know how ocarina works. I write some assembler code at a certain address, and patch the the game to run that very often(hooktype VI should be every frame if i'm not wrong).

The assembler code i write at that address contains both, the Wiird handler for the debugging and screenshot suff, and the code required for Ocarina. The new versions of Gecko OS can disable the debugging, and because of this, there's more memory available. If i would understand assembler, i could do that too. But for now i only know it's some assembler code that does it, and there's some code i don't understand in the source, but i can't even say if it's the code i would need to change.

For smash bros + they released a workaround for the loader to allow more than 256 lines, by placing a secondary file (codes loader) in the codes folder and the actual codes in the save folder....well at least that is what i ahve been using anyway.

Certain codes including newer ones don't work this way (double-GCT method which is unique to SSBB)

Shame about the mysterious assembly code. Regardless, keep up the good work WiiPower

Hi, just like to drop by to say what happened to me.. it isn't a complain or anything, just sumthing i would like you guys to know.

System Menu : 3.2U
cIOS : 249 r10

Sumhow, i am able to use my HDD in the top/first USB port, didnt really do much, just use WBFS manager 3.0, pop it in and tadaa~~

HOWEVER, after around 45 minutes of playtime, when the game require loading, the wii will just hang, leaving a blank screen and the HDD light will blink non-stop, i has tested this with a few games n all show same results...

I also played around with R5 & R6 and both shows the same problem.

I wonder if WiiPower can look up on this..or maybe sumone can point it to me if this problem has been solved..

ALSO, to eliminate hardware as a factor, can you guys that manage to usb load from neogamma post what type of casing are you guys using? I am currently using a SAROTECH Cutie...

Peace

cios rev13 there is no 13a only 13 and 13b, but a lot of people seem to have issues with 13b so stick with rev13.

yes rename it to boot.dol plus i assumed that u would extract it to the folder named cios38_rev13-installer. but thats fine, yes create a folder named that so u know exactly which 1 to use and put that into apps.

then launch homebrew and select that file and install it. if u done ur wii urself it is quite striaght forwrd, takes around 60secs to install rev13 over your previous cios, by the way do u know which cios you are on. i found rev9 the most stable before this 1, the only issue i have with rev13 is that if u try to reboot from any backup channel the wii freezes, but with an auto boot channel like the 1 i quoted u will be fine. let me know how it goes.

Thanks, i followed all of the directions and here is the update.

here is what works and what doesnt:

Wii info: LU36, 4.0U (Virgin), Bootmii, Preloader, cIOS38 rev13

HBC, Homebrew Browser,
Western Digital 1T

NeoGamma R4 - playing all of the backups of my originals from western digital, only plays some backups of DVDs, only plays one or two downloaded games, freezes up on COD3 (wich i really want play). Should i upgraded to R6? Any other suggestions why it wouldn't play downloaded games via USB? any games tutorials that i should read?

USB Loader GX (r568) running it from Apps - dumps games amazingly fast, but will only plays games dumped through itself, doesn't want to play anything else including Zelda which was dumped by DVD Dumper.

Backup Launcher 0.3 - completely useless, would like to get rid of it

I've made copies of ISOs to my desk top from western digital using WBFS Manager 3.0, but for some reasons i cant copy them or move them to other storage devices on PC, always tells me that there is not enough space on the device which is nuts i have more space than i know what to do with, anyone know what could be preventing me from moving them around?

ok well i dont use USB loaders as i only have a 40gb hdd taken from my ps3 and i dont see the point in putting a few games on at a time so i use backup dvds. i suppose i should invest in a 1tb hdd as it makes sense on space.

R4 works fine for me so it could just be the settings set in the neogamma loader. on the channel if its a autoboot 1 that i linked u 2 just hold down 1 when its loading and flick through the settings and let us know. i only have cod5 and that works great but i can get hold of cod3 in the next few days to have a look if they got it at blockbuster still.

backup launcher 0.3 or gamma channel as i know it by worked well on rev9 up untll new games like ghostbusters and dont work with rev13 but neogamma works fine. i would just delete it as u would a normal channel just make sure its that one u delete.

with WBFS do the iso' extract to 4.37gb if so i dont know what the problem could be. try extracting the to a slave drive first as that is what i have done say fromdrive E then back to desktop on drive C.

my wii i done the old fashioned way through zelda lol. gonna have to experiment with bootmii i think on my mates, now im gonna ask u is it as easy as it was with zelda. also i think i shall be investing in a 1tb hdd next payday. anyway let us know the settings in neogamma.

I'm having a problem with a PAL LU64 with latest 4.0.

Installed:
cIOS13a/b
Softcorp IOS 21-61
NeoGamma R3 Channel

The problem is that I can't run the R3 channel, but I CAN run the R4 dol.

Does anyone have any idea what I should do?
Maybe WiiPower himself?
