Perhaps, some one need to educate the teacher and point out that Linux is being used by governments, private & public corporations, and millions of embedded home appliances are powered by Linux.

Wow, some idiots out there. What the hell is that, though, about linux being inferior to Windows? Throw Wine on Ubuntu Linux and download the restricted drivers and plugins, and there you go. Security-wise, Linux is vastly superior to Windows. Vastly. Windows is easier to use, sure, but if you have the patience to learn, Linux is THE way to go. Who's with me?

I'm half with you, but I personally would say hand both of them and get Mac. Just my opinion.

In my humble opinion, I've divided the three OS giants. If you want to play games, go for Windows all the way. It just works most of the time. Want pictures, music, and videos really really fast? Mac is the one for you. Need a good OS to do work, tweak, and plain old mess around with? Linux is the way to go due to its customization capabilities.

The fact that the teachers says she and many of her friends had tried linux in college and yet does not know that it is indeed free makes me think she actually paid for it in the past...which is just...wow...I mean...

I think I'm realizing where the word "dumbfounded" comes from....cause she is really dumb, and everything about her is thus "founded" apon her stupidity. (not a literal interpretation)
