This question has been asked multiple times......I would yes. Are you good in consoles hacking and learning about the system or just the casual player who do what to spends a lot of hours with the system of the consoles and many things around it? It depends on that too, if you are the 2nd response, don't bother , to me you got to learn a lot of things to learn you wiiU to 100% of it's use. Each system is different, and you will spent a lot of time learning each time about it and learn all it's secrets.

It has extremely niche uses, how much you need and how much are you willing to spend for it?

One of its biggest qualities is being able to play native gamecube and wii games and connect it to an hdmi out of the box. I remember being able to stream gamecube games to the gamepad but I'm not sure.

It doesn't support native 240p or 224p like the Wii does thought.

There's exclusives such as Nintendo Land, Game and Wario and... well I can't think of anything else lol. Oh wait, there's Star Fox Zero but that was an controversial game.

It is an excellent emu-station, if not the best.

Really easy to 'customize', it will then handle all of nintendo systems up until NS, obivously (well, 80% of NS first party are wiiU ports so...). I can share with kids classic Mega man, Mario world, Mario 64, rogue squadron, wii sport resort etc...

Its homebrews allow to DL and install an impressive amount of classics in only one click, a real treat.
The wiiU pro controller it also very good, I use it with my docked steam deck almost daily.

It only lacks a good video player, but nothing can beat KODI (Xbox one) in that regard.

Without a doubt it's a must have console, I've fell in love with my homebrewed Wii U and my Wii they are great consoles.

No. If you want it you would just buy it. The console is not for the indecisive people. :creep:
You know, that's a good way to put it. The Wii U isn't for everyone, and it doesn't have the most robust library. It has the reputation for being easy to hack, and people can play homebrew and access useful tools. I'd recommend writing down what games you're interested in and considering how much use you think you'd get out of it. It's not super expensive, but I wouldn't recommend buying it for one game.

You must really want to play Nintendo Land.

Have you asked your four friends if they are also interested in playing Nintendo Land? Because you're not going to get much out of the experience if you don't know four other people who are equally keen.

One of those "niche" uses is playing either natively (Wii U, Wii, Gamecube) or under Virtual Console/emulation (NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA and DS) virtually every non-3DS/Switch game Nintendo ever made. Some would argue it makes the Wii U the single most valuable console Nintendo has ever made.

Yes and no, depending on what you are looking for, it's got full support for Wii and Wii U and via hacking you get Gamecube and DS as well, but I wouldn't recommend it as an all-in-one emulation machine because it's got a slow UI and the controller has a short battery life that uses its own specific charging cable (also it's uncomfortable to hold) there are better and cheaper options for an all-in-one emulation box out there but it is great for GC/Wii/WiiU/and DS support.

It's the same as getting a 3DS, great for DS a d 3DS support, and via modding GBA support as well, but I wouldn't recommend it as an all-in-one emulation handheld as there are better options out there.
