Hello everyone!
For those, who like me were waiting for the original XCOM games to appear, there is good news!
I've managed to port original OpenXcom engine to Switch (tested on HOS 19.0.1, AMS 1.8.0 Pre-release). This is fork
of the sdl2 branch, because i couldn't compile SDL1 library with devkitPRO. So, there is main info about this home-made project:

- OpenXcom uses software rendering, and that can cause high cpu load -> fps drops (rarely)
- Touchscreen supports only one-finger gestures and double-finger tap (right mouse click)
+ I used devkitPRO features, and as result, game can switch resolution 720p/1080p in handheld/docked mode
+ Controller buttons can be remapped through game's standart menu (they treated as keyboard keys)
+ Theoretically, it has mod support, but i haven't tested it

Github repo (checkout readme for instructions):

Have a nice play 👽

Awesome. Really interested in those mods - especially Men in Black and Pirates
Since it's port of original OpenXcom, there's no support for OXCE-based mods, but made for vanilla seems to be working (MIB works).

I registered here just to express my deepest appreciation for this long-awaited port.

Few notes so far, if you don't mind:
1. Intro is unskippable (easily fixable by turning it off in settings)
2. English language only (easily fixable by downloading additional languages from official OpenXcom website)

I don't have time for proper testing yet, but I want to hope that you will not abandon this port. Thank you once more!

Thank you for your reply!

I'll take a little break now, but I'm not abandoning this project, because in plans i have a few bug fixes and porting OXCE, since their core code is pretty similar, i think :) Stay tuned!

Hey I just wanted to thank you immensely for making this. I waited years and years for this exact software, thank you so much.

Can you help me with something goofy? I absolutely cannot find the save files. I read the github stuff and everything, but no such folder exists on my Switch. It's saving fine and everything! Just can't find it lmao.
