My joycons have drift and that's one of the reasons I use Client-RS on PC which is a fork of syshidplus. It let's me use PC controllers on my Switch. The issue is you can't wake the sleep from Switch with them so I have to wake them with joycons, and then they're turned on and stay on and it's causing movement all over the screen and won't let me select what I want. If I go into controllers that works to turn off the joycons the problem is it wants me to resync my PC controller and it doesn't work from that screen for some reason.

what controller? why sys-hidplus instead of missioncontrol or sys-con?

the joycons will turn off if you put them in the rails, but I'm assuming your console is in an inconvenient location and you need to keep the joycons out to wake from sleep + taking them out and putting them back in wouldn't be convenient

alternatively, if your analog sticks are already no good anyway, you could probably take the joycons apart and unplug the analog sticks from the board

I believe missioncontrol or sys-con is for controllers that are hooked up to the Switch. Client-RS is a fork of syshidplus which let's you use controllers hooked up to PC.

Right the Switch isn't right by me, and it's just inconvienient to get up and connect them to the rails every time. What's weird is occasionally by accident I've gotten my PC controller to wake the Switch from sleep by hitting the home button, but it doesn't work all the time can't figure out why. If I could I just wouldn't use the joycons but I need them to wake the Switch from sleep.

The two ways I guess I can do it is enter a game and sync the PC controller, it turns off the joycons, or reboot to payload and resync the PC controller works. Not ideal but best I can do. The problem with either those is the joycons drift make it difficult to do anything.

Does missioncontrol or syscon have wake from sleep? I could use a different controller with one of those homebrews if so to wake it up which I would prefer.

iirc wake console only works on official controllers, you need to use your joycons

also you can turn off joycons just by pressing the sync button on the rail. it won't disconnect other controllers

btw you can get replacement joycons from amazon for like 10, takes less than 1 hour to replace them

lol, to think the solution was this simple

also, there are unofficial controllers that can do wake from sleep, but those are hardware. maybe there is a limitation with software sysmodules that makes it impossible

yes, i have several knock off pro controllers and all of them can wake switch from sleep. I think mission control author mentioned that wake from sleep depends on the controller sending a specific signal to switch's bluetooth receiver. However controllers for other systems won't be able to send this signal that's why wake from sleep doesn't work

This is my understanding as well, but what's weird is somehow right after I put the Switch to sleep and also sometimes when I haven't even used the Switch Client-RS (which is a PC connected controller) can turn it on. First time I discovered that was by accident I use the same controller on PS4 through Chiaki, and I hit the home button to exit a PS4 game, both Switch and PS4 are hooked up to a capture card and my Switch screen showed up I was like WTF. And it happens if I try it right after I put the Switch to sleep. But after awhile it won't work. I have no idea how this happens, but I can't do it consistently.

I was aware of turning off joycons through the rail just not a big fan of that. I'd rather just Reboot to Payload that works but then I have to wake from sleep get to homebrew menu choose Reboot to Payload and sometimes that can be an issue.

But yeah it seems to only be the left joycon, I probably just need to replace that one joycon. But if you look on Amazon they're a lot more than $10, or Ebay. I'm also weary about buying a used one might have the same drift.
Post automatically merged:

I think I can just wake from sleep with the right joycon which isn't drifting and then let Client RS take over using my PC controller. Just would be nice not to be wasting the battery of the joycon but oh well some games if I enter them it will go off.

It seems if I enter Switch Remote Play homebrew, it turns off the joycons yet my PC controller still works. I don't even think buying a new joycon is necessary. I hate using them for games anyway.

my bad, meant to say joycon sticks, you can buy 2x replacement sticks for around $10, replace it and put 1-2 layers of electrical tape on the back so the battery bracket puts pressure on it. Did this to every joycon stick i replaced, never drifted again
