Replace my switch v1 LCD connector and the screen is working. How ever when I connect the joycons to the rails they do not respond in any fashion. The console doesn't even see them as connected. Tried a wired controller and the console reports that it's paired but there is still no response on the console. The touch screen was previously not working so I don't get any response from that either. Is there anything that obvious that I could check? When the connector was faulty you could at least hear the click when connecting the joycons so knew they were working. Could this possibly be caused by a short on the LCD connector? I'm gonna take the board out again later and rework the connector but thought I'd see if anyone else has any suggestions before doing so.

The handshake with the controllers that gives you that click sound is done in software.
If they do work in bluetooth mode then at least you can probably say that the controllers themselves are working.
I would look for scratches or maybe missing resistors on the main board.
The controllers are directly connected to the CPU and only need a few resistors to work.
They don't share the usb port with the touchscreen or something like that.
If the power rails is shorted, then they might not work.
So check if you have GND and +5v on the connector for the joycon.

Usually the LCD connector just makes a bad connection, rather than creating a short.

I got it working. I forgot to check the left joycon connector that I also replaced. I just figured if it was that connector the right one would still function. Did some further troubleshooting and found that the right joycon would work if the left was disconnected but as soon as the left joycon connected both would stop working, so reworked that connector and all is good now.

Now to fix the sd card connector that is also broken with a missing pad.
