This is a thread for M&L fans to talk about the things they like and dislike about the game. At the time of this writing the game hasn't released or leaked yet so all we have right now are trailers and short gameplay videos.

Needless to say, if you want to go 100% blind in the game then you might not want to read this thread.

I'm going to make comments on the following video:

Positive remarks
  • That music in the first area is a banger! Not only very mario-like but also fills my heart with wonder and excitement. It's like a celebration of the proper return of the series.
  • Speaking of that first area, it looks gorgeous too; especially when it gets sunny! It fits right in into the Mario universe without relying on the cookie cutter look. The details make the 3D transition well worth it.

Negative remarks
  • Save for the girl being carried in the beginning, the natives of this island look like some generic mascots you could find anywhere else. They leave that "Mario Mandate" taste in my mouth that still doesn't want to leave after all these years. Piantas are the best counter-example to this, in fact now I wish they just used them instead.
  • A partner that doesn't shut up... again. :glare: Seriously Nintendo, give us an option to turn these things off.

What are your thoughts?

I like how the Brothership title is a pun for the little UFO shape they make together

According to recently revealed box art the game is made with unreal engine,I wonder how can this impact the mods the game could receive

The only thing I dislike is that you no longer get to pick a stat to increase by a random amount (like in RPG 3/DX and 4) upon level-up, but otherwise I feel that the new studio did manage to make it feel like AlphaDream's games.
