VSH menu and recovery not working

So previously I was running 6.61 LME saw a guiode for ARk-4 tried it out first I used chrono switch downgrader 7.4 did a clean install installed ark Currently says 6.61 ARK-4 cIPL now here is the issues I am having since trying to use this cfw....Only ps1 games work plugins don't work and most importantly no vsh menu no recovery menu when I hold R on boot no cfw settings tab under extras can someone please help!
EDIT:forgot to mention did a downgrade to clean ofw 6.61 a 2nd time still nothing! same result

Well, make sure that you've installed ARK-4 properly. Follow the official guide. Make sure that you've got the necessary files in the correct path. AFAIK ARK-4 stores most of its core files inside of a save data (unless you make a full flash install), maybe some of ARK-4 files are missing? If not, then I'd say just go for other CFW. If the problem still persists there, then I assume it's a kind of hardware issue??? I had a PSP with a dead Lepton (UMD) chip and it always caused me problems when I installed perma CFW so I resorted to temporary CFW and used the PSP that way.

Now that u mention it...my umd drive is a lil faulty it does read umd disc but even when a disc not in the psp it still constantly tries to read something to the point I had to install a noumd plugin for e.g when I boot it up I got to open the umd drive bay or it will just hang my other theory is could be the memory stick sd card adapter I use I currently don't have any oem memory sticks lying around anymore sadly hopefully I can get one and try again...p.s thanks for responding good to see good people out there still
