Well, make sure that you've installed ARK-4 properly. Follow the official guide. Make sure that you've got the necessary files in the correct path. AFAIK ARK-4 stores most of its core files inside of a save data (unless you make a full flash install), maybe some of ARK-4 files are missing? If not, then I'd say just go for other CFW. If the problem still persists there, then I assume it's a kind of hardware issue??? I had a PSP with a dead Lepton (UMD) chip and it always caused me problems when I installed perma CFW so I resorted to temporary CFW and used the PSP that way.

Now that u mention it...my umd drive is a lil faulty it does read umd disc but even when a disc not in the psp it still constantly tries to read something to the point I had to install a noumd plugin for e.g when I boot it up I got to open the umd drive bay or it will just hang my other theory is could be the memory stick sd card adapter I use I currently don't have any oem memory sticks lying around anymore sadly hopefully I can get one and try again...p.s thanks for responding good to see good people out there still

Yeah you're welcome, I don't think that it's related to the microsd adapter but if you have one with dual slots then that could be the issue... They really suck and are so fragile. Sometimes not reading UMD could be related to Lepton chip instead of the laser. FYI ARK-4 comes with built-in NoUMD feature but you need to enable it via CFW Settings in XMB.

I've used this one for years and never had an issue. Tbh any single slot adapter should be decent enough.

OK noted that's what I'll purchase then p.s giving a little update borrowed a oem memory stick from someone and everything works flawless even installed cIPL just that my current double sd card adapter once it's re inserted the psp goes haywire (also realized I couldn't even get PRO installed either it would just crash everytime) so that confirms my suspicion just need to get a single slot sd card adapter now thanks so much reha your help It is greatly appreciated
