Looks very good - about time they capitalise on the success of Mania and make a new game following the same principles, but with a new coat of paint. They have a blueprint for success, they just need to follow it.

i don't get why people are getting so excited for this??? this looks like those janky classic sonic levels from Forces/Generations with a new coat of paint and i really don't trust Sonic Team themeselves to make a retro style sonic game, i'd much rather have a Sonic Mania 2

Classic levels in Generations were dope, the game is broadly considered to be Sonic’s big come-back title.

will they though? knowing their track record they will put some gimmick or machanic that's not needed or wanted like the lame AF fighting in frontiers. our only hope is if whitehead is in charge of this and not sega.

I mean, you say that, but Frontiers put Sonic back on the map for broader audiences. I didn’t have a problem with it myself.

Looks fairly intresting! I hope the gameplay would resamble more of the classic formula then the 2D gameplay from Sonic Generations.

Honestly, it looks so cute and enjoyable it has the potential to be one of the best Modern Sonic 2D games.

Sega should dig into porting/remastering the arcade games they made because they have so many that's only playable via a MAME emulator.

Sonic Mania was the true Sonic 4 for me.

I'd love a Sonic Mania 2, but guess this is the closest to it.

Yawn Call me back when they make a new 2D Sonic game that isn't Mega Drive nostalgia pandering. For example making a 2D Sonic game where it has plenty of playable characters like Sonic Runners and Super Mario Maker 1.

This looks like the "New Super Mario Bros." treatment to 2D Classic Sonic.
I'm more the pixel kind of guy when it comes to Sonic but since I loved all NSMB entries, I'll give it a go. Also I'm glad it'll be on Switch too. Despite having a Steam Deck, this is best played on a Switch with friends I guess.
