Does PULSE 3D (or another PS5 headset) make a big difference when compared to the TV speakers and is it confortable to use? I have a LG OLED42C26LB if that matters. I'm asking this because after enabling 3D Audio in my PS5 on the previous TV, some games sounded hollow and I've read many reports saying this also happens in modern TVs (my previous TV was 1080p) even though the PS5 released an update that supposedly suports the TV speakers and I've also read many reports saying PULSE 3D is unconfortable to use.

Also, does anyone know any PS2 and PS3 headsets (especially official's) and if they'd make a difference too?

Maybe I should get a headset for the PS TV as well (would it make a difference?).

You'll find most headsets will be an improvement over a modern smart TV. The vast majority really do have awful speakers unless you've forked out the extra for some dedicated audio equipment (sound system or soundbar).

As for my random comfy headset recommendation, I've been using the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for the past six or so months with my PC and a few consoles and it's been great.

Then Sony (and maybe other companies too) is making us lose extra money for nothing. I don't think that's right. Maybe if using any headphones this problem doesn't happen, and if they support 3D Audio, what's the advantage of using PULSE 3D (or another headset) on the PS5 over them, then?

I've heard of that headset being better than PULSE 3D but it's very expensive (even PULSE 3D is somewhat). Shouldn't the official product be always better? Also, to use it wirelessly, the PS5's front USB-A port must be used because if there's no enough space on the back (like in my case) it might overheat the PS5? What is the PS5's USB-C port for?

So, will PS2, PS3 and PS TV headsets make a difference, as well? Which ones should be bought?

My kids each went through a set of pulse 3d's and on each of them the covering over the ear cushions has broken away and can only be really fixed by buying new cushions. I just got a set of Arctis 1s and while I haven't gotten to use them a whole lot they seem to be better built and slightly cheaper than the pulse 3d's.

What about the audio?

What about their sound?
From the few days I got to use them with the ps5 they were pretty impressive. They support the ps5s 3d audio well and I think they are much better than the pulse 3d. Only thing I don't like is no software on the ps5 to adjust the equalizer and no game audio/chat mixer so your left to using ingame settings to adjust chat volume and game volume. I think the arctis 5 and above have the audio/chat mixer though but they are more expensive then I myself wanted to pay.

Hey there! Using a headset like the Pulse 3D with your PS5 can make a huge difference in terms of sound quality compared to using your TV speakers. The Pulse 3D is specifically designed to take advantage of the PS5's 3D Audio feature, which can really enhance your gaming experience.

In terms of comfort, the Pulse 3D is pretty comfy to use. It has soft ear cups and an adjustable headband, so it should fit most people pretty well.

As for PS2 and PS3 headsets, there were a few official and third-party options available back in the day, but they might not work as well with modern technology. That said, if you already have one lying around, it's worth giving it a try to see if it improves your sound quality.

And if you have a PS TV, using a headset can definitely make a difference since it doesn't have built-in speakers. Again, a newer headset designed for the PS5 would probably work best, but any headset from a previous generation should still help improve your audio experience.

I'm using PULSE 3D on the PS5 but it's somewhat unconfortable since it hurts the back of my ears. For the remaining consoles I'll use TOZO A1 Mini Wireless Earbuds. What do you mean by the PS TV not having built-in speakers? Don't all of these consoles not have them and they use the TV's (or external's)?

TOZO A1 Mini Wireless Earbuds have high latency when playing PS5 (I tried them because PULSE 3D hurts my ears), so I guess I'll also have it on the PS2, PS3, PS4, PS TV, PSC, set-top box and the TV's apps and maybe on the PSP, PS Vita, PC and phone as well.

Take it from someone who fell for the marketing: it doesn't matter what headphones you use, they're all better than TV speakers and PS5's spatial audio will work with any old headphones. The spatial audio is software-based, so you can get yourself some decent studio headphones for cheap (a brand new pair of Samson SR850s sound great and run for $35 USD), plug em into the controller, and have the same experience as Pulse or Arctis. You can EQ them in software, too.

I think the marketing was regarding 3D audio and not spatial one. What's the difference between them? Do all headphones have 3D Audio as well? Are those headphones more confortable than PULSE 3D and do all earplugs have spatial audio, 3D Audio and EQ settings? Maybe they don't and the problem is that they might be cheaper than headphones and more confortable as well while headphones may have better audio and noise cancellation, even though I can still hear outside noise with PULSE 3D on the maximum volume if wireless. I never use PULSE 3D plugged to DualSense.

3D Audio is just spatial audio with a fancy name. And yes, all headphones (even those earbuds from the early iPod days) will work with 3D Audio because, like I said, it's all done in software on the console.

As for comfort it might just come down to preference, I've used Samsons on my PC and the Pulse on my PS5 and I find they're both comfy enough. The pads on the Samsons are bigger and feel kind of rough but once they're on, you won't be moving them around so the roughness stops being a problem.

Then I don't know why Sony advertised it with PULSE 3D. Maybe I could have bought cheaper and more confortable headphones than PULSE 3D. What are the advantages of using them wired, except being able to play wirelessly, having louder maximum volume and not discharging the battery?

Sony wanted a lineup of accessories to go with the console at launch and used the Pulse to advertise the spatial audio capabilities.
I find the Samsons sound a little better out of the box (I had to EQ the Pulse a little to get them to sound right to me), and because they're open back they sound much wider and I would dare say more immersive.

Do all earbuds have spatial audio/3D Audio, EQ settings and noise cancellation or only headphones (and not all)? I guess not. Do headphones have high latency, like said earbuds?

I use the Bass Boost EQ setting with DualSense for all games but I don't know if it's the best one. I thought only DualSense had EQ settings and it was a PS5-only thing. So, are those headphones not only better but also cheaper? I was told PULSE 3D was the best I could buy if not wanting to waste a lot of money.

It seems the Gold Wireless Headset is an official headset for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita, although I'd like earphones for the latter and for the PSP instead (I no longer have the latter's), so I'd have to buy them with the Gold Wireless Headset. Also, it seems the PS TV and the PSC don't have official headsets and the PS2 has one from Logitech but it only works for some online multiplayer games (whose servers must have already been closed) and is voice-only.

EDIT: I already have the Gold Wireless Headset, PS Vita's in-ear headset (it came with 2 extra pairs of cushions) and PSP 3000's headphones (PSP-S120).
