Can anybody share a "Rabbids Play" gamesave with Uplay rewards unlocked? - Uplay service closed years ago and I cannot unblock some game content!

Reposting this as in the previous thread somebody failed to grasp the difference between "Uplay rewards" and paid-for-DLC.

I don't think a save game would help either as the uPlay crap was user specific iirc.

As for hacking the game.... I dont think the item in question would be there as it would have come from the server.... Im really not sure about that but I seriously doubt its in game.

Possibly texture modding the characters could work but you woud have to extract the games contents and repack them again after finding said file. I've never seen anything regarding modding this game either but I think it could be done.

Nah...where are your editing skillz now? xD
It's a proprietary format and surely I don't have time time to do weeks of reverse engineering. If only I could afford the luxury to be a no-life loser like you. I'm envious of your free time. "xD" is still a thing? I supposed it went out of fashion 15 years ago. What year is it in Aspie-land?

Uplay rewards are server sided. You can't unlock them anymore xD

Ask ubisoft for that.
You know this might not be bad advice. It's certainly worth a try to reach out to Ubisoft's customer service. If OP tells them the whole reason he so desperately wants this skin or whatever for his kid, maybe Ubisoft might be able to lend a hand. I mean I wouldn't exactly hold my breath on the prospect, but it couldn't hurt to try.

It is in the save files, mate. Don't give Alex any credence, he's just the forum's idiot.

Contactint Ubi's programmers is hard. I have added a few on LinkedIn but asking them about a mediocre game from 10 years ago is not easy. ^_^

Trying to show the young lad Mario Party instead...

It doesn't really matter where it's located, what I'm saying is that Ubisoft might be able to help you out, hell maybe they would give you a moddified save file or maybe they can spoof the old uPlay server in some way to give the item to your save file. I know you and Alex are butting heads over this, but the advice to straight up ask the dev's customer service for help in some way here isn't a bad idea, like I said, it couldn't hurt to try.

Then pls tell me why the game wants a server connection (or whatever it is)? Because the stuff is on the servers. It is that simple. Dunno what you want to achieve or expect here. Two people tell you technically the same.

he's just the forum's idiot.
You are the idiot. You are dumb af that you don't get it what the people try to tell you. If it was really that easy, don't you think there would have already been people showing how to unlock such content without ubisoft's servers through youtube videos? But i'm talking my mouth fuzzy off here anyway because you just don't get it. If it were that simple, you would have found a "modified" savegame here long ago.

Let me try to explain to you the easy way, with patience and understanding.

There is another game I downloaded for my kid. It's called "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".

When the game starts, there are 4 activities you can choose, but - without downloading the DLC, you're limited to only 1 'demo'.

If you download the DLC, you can play with them all.

Guess the DLC filesize? A few KB. It means that the DLC doesn't really add any content, but acts as some simple placeholder for another value to be checked within the main executable.

NOW:

Rabbids Land works exactly like this. If you check within the executable, you'll see a string called - I'm simplifying here - "Has the user connected to the server"?

Connecting to Uplay does NOT download any file but simply triggers a variable in the Wii U's RAM that is later saved in the savefile. Nothing is really download from Uplay, the connection simply instigates a change in a small boolean switch that already exists in the main executable.

I'm not sure why I cannot get this point through your skull. The server thing you mention is only a simple trigger. What I am trying to do is SKIP that step and change the savegame directly (the savegame itself contains several parameters about Uplay and if the connection has already happened - imagine that every in-game bonus (the f'ing grey rabbid from hell, the soundtrack, the additional cutscenes) is kept in the save as a simple status.

The reason why there are no Youtube guides or modified savegames, Alex, it's because this game is mediocre at best. It's the same reason why there are no Hansa Rostock fan-clubs in Italy or UK, but fan-clubs for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund abund, to use a metaphor. Nobody gave it more than a 5 or 6 for good reason. But it's the first videogame my son played when he was 3. It has a special value to him.

Is it all clear now? My current progress is: I cannot decode the savefile. The first bites are not a meaningful signature and they don't seem to represent anything. It does not seem a compression algorhytm considering the variable strings are not corrupted in any way - only the values are. I could reverse engineer the thing changing parameters and options but it would take an age to check binary, hex values, etc.

The only feasible solution now is to see is somebody has a savegame. If you can help, good. If you still didn't get that Uplay was simply a simple trigger and not a game content repository - in this case - simply ignore my threads. At this point it's abundantly clear you don't add to the conversation in any way.

I dunno what YOU don't understand. But that is the point. You can't "skip" this when the stuff is on uplay servers. If it would be possible, a lot of savegames without that check would float around in the world wide web.

Connecting to Uplay does NOT download any file but simply triggers a variable in the Wii U's RAM that is later saved in the savefile. Nothing is really download from Uplay, the connection simply instigates a change in a small boolean switch that already exists in the main executable.
Obviously yes. It is additional content which needs to be downloaded. And you don't need to tell me here that any variable is triggered. If you don't have the old savegame anymore anyway, this alleged trigger won't do you any good. With the new savegame you need a connection again anyway. But this is not possible because the server is down.

Rabbids Land works exactly like this.
If it would work exactly like the other game, it wouldn't ask for the servers. Gotcha?

...Otherwise i dunno what you exactly want.

It was confirmed by Ubisoft programmers it works as I said. But feel free to argue on. Who I am to stop you?

PS: You're probably right about more complex Uplay bonuses from other games. But not in this case. The game code - as well as the savegame files and what the ex-programmers said (all not too friendly to Ubisoft for some reason) - are pretty eloquent.
