what is the latest nintendont version, and where can I find it? I looked at the op, but it says it was last edited in 2017. I'm looking to update both nintendont and usb loader gx, but I'm not sure where to find at least nintendont's latest version. I'm pretty sure it's been updated since 2017.
the link always grabs the latest version it needs no update to do so on the op.

alright, just updated both nintendont and usb loader gx. everything works: saves on both cube and wii, cube games, wii games, wiiware, neek, and dlc. I hadn't updated in years. does the built in updater for nintendont work? at first, I tried updating from 5.xxx, and I don't think it worked. also, what is the latest version 6.? I'm going to add it to the meta file, so I'll know what version I have without opening the app.

nm, seems to have updated the meta automatically.

I wasn't sure if it was understandable, but does nintendont update from within the app correctly now? I tried updating with 5.xxx, and I think it error'd. I couldn't tell, since some overlay went over the text.

afaik i think it does but takes a long time while frozen to download the new update , some user said it froze for 10 minutes did update so guess it works in someway.

alright, I'll probably just update manually. I noticed that when I updated manually, it didn't retain my settings like widescreen, memory card emulation, and using the same raw image for all games. I had forgotten about the last one, since I'm using one large raw image, so at first, saves weren't working. however, after enabling the option to use the same card for all saves, all of my saves worked: tested sunshine, tales of symphonia, and wind waker. I hadn't played wind waker since 2004 according to the save. never beat the game, but I did get the wind waker wii u, so I have the game on there, just haven't played it yet. I got pretty far in the cube version.

that is becuase the nintendont menu chnaged with the option of wiiugamepad on the settings and since the settings no longer have the same number of items they reseted back, if the menu doesnt change you keep your settings.

new version out 497 comes with some added pull requests and fixed sonic riders usa since without isocache the tag mode would freeze, pal version tag mode still doesnt work tough and i went really really back to when fix94 fixed sonic riders and not even then did tag mode worked on pal apparently.

i found out the pal patch does not apply on pal iso so fix94 must have made some codding error and the patch does not apply on pal version.

How does nintendont patch widescreen into 4.3 only games like timesplitters 2 flawlessly? i tried the same game in dolphin using the action replay widescreen codes in dolphin for timesplitters 2 but there are floating decals and floating bullet holes yet the nintendont widescreen patch is fine, i wonder if there is a way to find the strings nintendont patches so i can try make dolphin codes myself

edit: man i remember this thread used to be hopping years ago, now its more like a week between posts or enquiries, just shows you how perfect this homebrew is, theres barely anything more to add or questions to ask, simply awsome :)

nintendont uses a general widescreen hacks, it works great on some games, it does nothing on others and some crash, so yeah its nice on the games it works on xD

Unfortunately, one of the main reasons is because the person who did a huge amount of coding (@FIX94) for Nintendont has seemed to have dropped off the face of the Earth so not much was done until fairly recently.

It's still hard to image that Nintendont started as a proof of concept to show that the Wii U could in fact play GameCube games with really no intent for it to go beyond that. Ironically Nintendont was initially showed off playing a GameCube game on the Wii U using a PlayStation controller. (Way to stick it to Nintendo for screwing Sony).

I see fix94 last post was almost 2 years ago, hes easily up there with some of the best devs, i wonder if anybody knows him personally even a little bit ? maybe someone like cyan or people who have been around gbatemp a long time? to be honest as far as i can remember fix 94 was never too "chatty", anytime he posted anything it was extremely valuable lol, always to the point and got s*it done :) good time,

Always good to see yourself and Pedro still so helpful to folks around these parts :)

Wouldn't it be good if Nintendont worked with NTFS. I don't suppose there is any chance it's gonna happen?
Unfortunately NTFS is closed sourced from Microsoft. Also there is no good reason to support it as FAT32 is more than good enough and all operating systems support it as GameCube games are much smaller than the 4GB file size limit. Also Wii games can easily be split into multiple files with no issues running them like that.

ntfc is a much more complex format that takes more memory to read from nintendont loader itself, there is a reason all homebrew is fat32 only , the only ntsc homebrew stuff is for loading isos on usbloader or wiiflow, and even then they also work with fat32 so no need for ntfs.

Unless I'm mistaken FAT32 has both a 4GB maximum filesize limit, and a 4TB maximum partition limit. Sure it's possible to get round both of these with some work, but why when NTFS doesn't have these issues? USBLGX supports NTFS, so it must be possible I guess?

OK fair point.
