Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

So, my Luma Updater says Im on 9.1-89cc6ed, but Im pretty sure I did all those things in that linked guide a long time ago. If I understand it correctly, I need to do Section VI to get the latest Luma3DS right?

Do it once (a long time ago) isn't enough, because both Luma and system firmware versions are updated. And the post I linked obviously works to update the Luma CFW (perform the "finalizing-setup" and the CTRNAND Luma guide is optional, but reccomended).

Installing CFW normally does not lead to shutting off. If B9S does not find boot.firm it turns the console turns off.
If you formatted your SD and it is emtpy, all you have to do is provide boot.firm in order to make the console boot.

Possible reasons for failing:

• boot.firm missing on SD
  
• Bad SD
• Wrong file system (must be FAT32, nothing else)
• Bad SD reader

I gave you exact advise at some point if I remember correctly (will search tomorrow, I'm tired).

If you follow the guide https://3ds.hacks.guide/ from the beginning to the end exactly nothing bad should happen on any 2DS or 3DS console.

No, and it's pretty unlikely there will ever be one, considering how underpowered it is compared to the PSP (the host device has to be significantly more powerful than the original device for emulation to be enjoyable).
