Tested it briefly yesterday. Very happy for this release (my gosh, blade runner support) but sadly in this current state it is unusable on the wii: 10 minutes to load zork grand inquisitor, and even more for saving (I don't know exactly, because after 15 minutes of waiting, I turned the console off). I'm not even trying the bigger games.
I'm wondering if it could be splitted in different cores like mame2003+ to be lighter for the wii

The loading times isn't really a Ram problem here. The wii filesystem code in the ScummVM port is slow. And some engines have also changed their check and loading routines. I've never bother to really look exactly why but I've made some quick changes that made the loading times bearable.
Tested Zork, it's loading in about 40 seconds. It's still a bit long...

Here's the updated wiiflow plugin also usable as a standalone homebrew :

Great find! I always enjoyed point and click games ever since I played Broken Sword Director's Cut on the Wii. I wish there'd been more interest in this during the wii's heyday, but sadly no, which was obvious with Zack and Wiki's failure. It's a match made in heaven, like how many turnbased mouse heavy games are on the Wii.

You seriously rock, Mr. @Wiimpathy! Thanks, as always.

Did you test Blade Runner, by any chance? I'll be trying it later, it's gonna be pretty cool watching this masterpiece run on the Wii.

Blade Runner (italian) crash:sad:
I copied all the necessary files. it was recgnized by ScummVm in a few seconds (which surprised me, as it's over 1Gb of content). After a rapid installation, I picked the standard blade runner (not the 'restored content' mode)

@Tetsuo Shima
Do you mind testing in previous versions :
mod17
mod16

The french version was working in those. I can't test right now, it's just to know if something's have changed that makes it crash now.
Tried the previous game files on mod17, on an empty SD running from the HBC.
Game is correctly recognized and added to the list, but once I try to launch it, it throws a scummvm error (no code dump):
'unknown error (Failed to initialize resources)'

@Wiimpathy I'm happy to say that Blade Runner is working flawlessly on mod18!:yaywii:
I made a stupid mistake when preparing the necessary data files.
I totally misunderstood this part from https://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Datafiles#Blade_Runner
And either
  • CDFRAMES1.DAT - Rename CDFRAMES.DAT from CD1
  • CDFRAMES2.DAT - Rename CDFRAMES.DAT from CD2
  • CDFRAMES3.DAT - Rename CDFRAMES.DAT from CD3
  • CDFRAMES4.DAT - Rename CDFRAMES.DAT from CD4
I was thinking that I had to pick only one cdframes from any CD and rename it to CDFRAMES.DAT.
Instead, I had to pick ALL 4 of them and add 1,2,3,4 at the end of their names.

So, the game is starting instantly and plays perfectly... I'm amazed!!!
I will try to play it to see if there are any bugs, but for now it's a BIG YES!
I will also make a cover for Wiiflow ASAP.

Here are the Blade Runner covers for Wiiflow. I made them for all the regions I could find scans for (brazilian, italian, english, chinese, german, spanish and french). I know that Scummvm is not currently supporting the brazilian and chinese versions, but who knows maybe they could be added in the future.
And the chinese cover really fits with the theme! I couldn't resist...

Ran this version today! Here's some of my findings:

ScummVM mod18, using USB.

- Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity [Eng]
Plays perfectly. Did not test the save function.
- Blade Runner with restored content [Eng]
Plays perfectly, audio skips a bit sometimes. Did not test the save function.
- Duckman: The Graphic Adventures of a Private Dick [Eng]
Shortly after you start the game, it crashes with Exception (DSI) occurred
- Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail! [Eng] / [Spa]
Plays perfectly. Opening the Inventory slows down the screen, though spanish version doesn't seem to suffer from this. Saves fine.
- Phantasmagoria [Eng]
Plays perfectly. Did not test the save function.
- The 7th Guest [Eng]
Plays perfectly. MT-32 Emulation works but makes audio skip a lot, lack of horsepower, i guess. Saves fine.

Unfortunately, Blade Runner (it) is very prone to crashing for me. 2 crashes in the first half an hour of gameplay, forcing me to hard reset. Save function works.
Scummvm on sd, game on usb
Just in case, i don't know if it makes any difference or not, but i am using the English version. Haven't played more than 3 minutes but seemed stable. I'll play it more later, right now i am having a blast with The 7th Guest, it's a dream come true for me to play it on the Wii, thanks to @Wiimpathy. :yaywii:
