Your Syscheck looks good overall. Having Base 57 installed to both IOS249 and 250, using d2x-v10beta52 should be getting the job done, no matter which one you force at startup.

It's a long shot, and may not work. But, since you're booting the game from an SD card/USB stick, you could try booting up the d2x installer app from Homebrew Channel and installing Base 57, d2x-v10beta53, latest revision to IOS251, and setting WiiFlow to force cIOS 251 on startup (or you can set it for just that game, using the Settings in the Game Selected screen).

D2x_v10Beta53 can be a bit slower to load, but has been known to solve some compatibility issues in specific situations. I only suggest to install it to IOS 251, so that it does not interfere with 249/250, which is typically used by your other loaders by default.

it offers me 3 revisions 21010, 21 and 65535, which one do I go for? Actually, trying the 21010 and 65535 gives out failure.

By any chance you have a wad of this thing, or know where I can get one?

EDIT all three give me failure and I accidentally uninstalled the base IOS when trying to get out of the app.

Is your Wii connected to the internet? D2x connects to servers, then makes the cIOS from there. ModMii is also an option, if you want to get a WAD.

yeah it is, but I am guessing they might not like I am using google's DNS.

and Modmii isn't working as I want it to.

I am going Page 4>BETA> I type the stuff I want (option 1) and It doesn't does anything.

After a closer inspection it only offers 249 or 250, not 251

In ModMii, when you type your selection, it adds it to a download queue list. After you type in your selection and press enter, the page will refresh with your selection added to the queue list. After the page refreshes, type 'd', then press 'Enter' to initiate the download of the queue list.

Yeah I noticed, but its only offering 249 of 250, not 251, not even NUS downloaded seems to have 251, which is weird.

If that is the case, I would go ahead and try the 25057 = cIOS250[57]-d2x-v10-beta53-alt Install that WAD, then force cIOS 250 in WiiFlow Lite. This will at least either confirm or deny if Beta53 is the solution for loading the game from the SD card. This typically still shouldn't break your other loaders since we're still just using slot 250, whereas 249 is the usual default.

Nope, beta 53 also leads to a black screen of death.

Here is what I'm thinking of trying tomorrow: erase the save file from the system menu, then launch the game via geckoOS or Uloader, see if that triggers the instructional video.

Going to let the 4 videos run, just in case.

this did nothing, I wonder if I need the .dol file that uloader found on "alt dol" option

Any other ideas?
Does the game still work in your other launchers? Edit: ah, it doesn't.

You should verify your Wii game dump checksum. Just because you dumped it yourself doesn't mean it's a 100% accurate dump. I use Witgui on Mac to do it, but you can do it on command line https://wit.wiimm.de

This leads me to a question, if the file wasn't good, how come Wiibackupmanager manager didn't throw error? I dumped the game>ran Wiibackupmanager to convert it to .WBFS and it went perfectly fine.

EDIT: Bad dump, wii backup manager can't verify the SHA-1

@Hakaisha @Tetsuo Shima
In the latest commit i added an option you might like.
- added source menu ini option to set flow layout number. under [general] add flow=#. this also applies to tiers.
This will help rhapsodii shima since i noticed the hyperspin layout on first display may not be set to the correct flow.

i also
- added clearing source tiers and tier current button numbers whenever a new theme is chosen.
wiiflow currently keeps track of what tiers have been opened. now when you change themes the tracking will be cleared and restored to base tier.

Also i have some advice for rhapshodii shima. I tried it recently.
1. I suggest putting your source menu files in wiiflow/source_menu/rhapsodii shima so that your source menu only works when the user uses your theme. It looks a little odd when I go back to default theme and its using your images and sourceflow layouts.
2. the Home button does not go to any menu when on a sourceflow. it simply goes back to main (or first) sourceflow. maybe you should just remove it from the top bar image.
3. the blue circled back arrows (back.png). you really shouldn't use those. because wiiflow keeps track of every tier. so if i'm on source menu and i go to hand helds then back to source menu and choose consoles. it will look like this: source menu>consoles because it removes hand helds when i pressed B to go back a tier.
with your back buttons the list will just keep accumulating like this: source menu>hand helds>source menu> consoles and so on. if they do it enough wiiflow may run out of memory. although that would take a very lot.

Thanks Fledge, I will follow your suggestions and will update Rhapsodii Shima.
I suggest putting your source menu files in wiiflow/source_menu/rhapsodii shima
uh, sorry. I didn't know source menu files could be placed in subfolders.
the Home button does not go to any menu when on a sourceflow. it simply goes back to main (or first) sourceflow. maybe you should just remove it from the top bar image.
Strange. When I'm pressing home it always sends me to the home menu. But perhaps this is a new feature you recently added
the blue circled back arrows (back.png). you really shouldn't use those....wiiflow may run out of memory
I didn't know this, either. I will remove them.

@fledge68 the back arrows were not needed anymore, now that we can alwayss press B to go back.
They were useful for another reason, though: to serve as a visual separator between the start and the end of the flows.
Not a big problem for me to remove them. Or maybe I could try to use a different image and removing magic= and source= from the tier ini.

Thank you for this, @fledge68 . I've thought about this a lot, but was never really sure what the solution could be. To avoid these awkward situations, I've tried to just keep my smallflows as simple as possible. With this new change, we can actually coordinate the use of matching background artwork with specific coverflows, without requiring any manual coverflow swapping from the end user to achieve the desired effect.

putting your source menu files in wiiflow/source_menu/rhapsodii shima so that your source menu only works when the user uses your theme.

Wait. Was this possible this whole time? So if I'm understanding correctly, we can have a separate source_menu.ini with its own set of tiers for every theme? If so, this would be a dream come true. I like the idea of having a more simple source menu in Rhapsodii, but using a more complex one in Symphonii and Excelsior. I could even use Tetsuo's originally intended source_menu setup in Rhapsodii Shima, without changing it to fit my own. It would be like having multiple setups on a single Wii console.

3. the blue circled back arrows (back.png). you really shouldn't use those. because wiiflow keeps track of every tier. so if i'm on source menu and i go to hand helds then back to source menu and choose consoles. it will look like this: source menu>consoles because it removes hand helds when i pressed B to go back a tier.

Noted, and will apply this to my next release. @Tetsuo Shima does make a good point about the arrow serving as a visual separator for tier content though. An empty button that does nothing or refreshes/resorts the current tier could possibly be a solution of sorts. Then again, perhaps even those actions may still contribute to memory overflow.

I see your point. you kind of need a way to let the user know they are on a tier and that pressing B won't return them to coverflow but will go back to previous source choices.

the easiest thing i could do is fix the code so you can leave the blue back arrows in but if they are clicked do nothing. you would set source= (to nothing) leave it blank.
or source=back_tier and I'll fix the code that if clicked do the same thing as if B was pressed.

I don't know. Maybe it doesn't check?

Maybe your disc is scratched so an accurate dump is not possible?

Anyway CleanRIP is the recommended dumper.

I like this idea very much!:)
I've just moved all my source menu .ini files to source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima, but now all the tiers backgrounds disappeared (but coverflow backgrounds are still there). Do I have to move the /backgrounds folder there too?

source tier backgrounds should go in wiiflow/source_menu/rhapsodii shima/backgrounds/
or wiiflow/source_menu/rhapsodii shima/backgrounds/rhapsodii shima/
either one should work.
