(USB HDD Update!) TX Anounces SX AUTOLOADER v1.10 from Team [WAIN]

Team [WAIN] is back with a quick update to their SX Autoloader release!
SXAL2.png

We have not heard from Team [WAIN] for a while, and today they dropped a bomb-shell of an add-on to SX OS, a simple little file that adds a much needed feature, 'auto-loading' of all your backup cartridges, no more hunting thru lots of icons to find a game and mounting it just click on the Game Icon you want to play right now and magically the cartridge will be inserted for you, its like having a multi-CD-changer attached to your Switch console! :)
Thanks to their friends at Team [WAIN] they have released an small 'add-on' to their SX OS v2.9.2 which allows you to 'auto-load', what that means now you just find the game you have previously played on your Horizon Home Screen, click on it, and even if it is a dumped cartridge in XCI format, as long as you still have the files on your Micro SD-Card and/or USB HDD, it will now auto-mount the cartridge backup for you and launch it, no more getting upset seeing the 'insert the game card' message, then having to go to Album, launch via their SX OS menu, scroll-over and find the game, and mount it and go back.

As long as you have at least mounted your XCI image once via their SX OS menu, now you can just simply click on a XCI Game Icon and it will Auto-Mount and Launch for you directly from the Horizon Home Screen. Is that not amazing! :)
NEW RELEASE: (Nov. 2th, 2019)
Changelog v1.1
  • Added USB HDD Support
  • Improved XCI detection
  • Database caching for speed
NOTE: If you have large XCI collection on your USB HDD, first time usage may take a couple of minutes for the database to be built.
IMPORTANT: If you get an Error Code on boot-up, then it means your SD Card has corruption on it, please re-format it and start fresh.
As usual, you can find their latest version of SX Autoloader in the TX Community Resources section, just unpack the new version overwriting the previous files.

To see it in action check out this video below:

I've tried this in docked mode (games from usb), Games load - but after a while playing them the games crash. It's almost as if the switch has gone to sleep or something (not on the screen), and the controller becomes unresponsive etc - you need to reboot the switch again for it to work properly.

Yeah better wait they implement this on SX OS 3.0.... Im fine by now... this still seems buggy... this corruption on SD excuse is odd once everything else is working perfectly fine, a few days ago I’ve copied Luigis today I’ve installed Alladin and no error that I can see to justify this corruption problem and format everything...

Yeah XCI + update in one (ie custom XCIs) doesn't seem to work. I hope sooner or later the ability to use them gets added.

Sxos 2.9.2 on 9.0.1, 256GB legit Samsung SD card in fat32 and some XCIs and CXCIs in Horizon split format copied from my nas using sx installer which does auto-splitting and error 2168-0002 on startup. Card fresh formatted some days ago and all games load and play fine. Tried looking at the log file and only the first xci appears, deleted that one and stil the same, log now contains the next one, deleted that one too and still the same then I deleted autoloader it already made me loose too much time than it saves. Definitely nice idea but it needs refining.

Working fine here, all mine are combined xci's on usb and the autoloader works a charm.
NOW I did have an issue where it didn't work with Mario and Sonic at the Olympics 2020, the game title was too long, I edited it to Mario and Sonic 2020 Tokyo.xci and deleted the cache folder in sxos/titles/NUMBERS/cache/usbhdd

Works fine now with everything, so I suggest mayhaps your titles are too long.

People should always be using fat32 with switch, exfat is busted.

Exfat is known to corrupt when using homebrew it's super common and I highly advise against it.
I always used exfat till I had my card corrupt and I lost 100+GB of installed games, now I've used fat32 since and it's been perfect.

Well I don't use homebrew.

My none hacked Nintendo switch killed two of original SanDisk micro SD cards, is it due to exfat? However my hacked Nintendo switch didn't kill any SD card yet also on exfat (Samsung 512gb).

out of curiosity as i haven't messed with it again yet, how many (if any) are your xci's custom "super" xci's, as in they have DLC or UPDATES added to the xci.

I think i only have starlink like that on my hdd so i'll move that off later and see if it scans.
Super/custom XCIs seem to work fine. Had to move most of my xcis back to a folder and it works ok again. The super xcis ive kept on the root work no probs.

it means, that the Sx autoloader has corrupted your sd card....

I don't think so.
I got a failure during the boot process when using this. After the information it could be caused by a corrupted sd card I copied all of my files from my 400gb sd card to my computer. After this I formated it and copied everything back. 10 hours later I had to find out that it still crashes during booting when this tool is on my sd card.

After deleting it everything runs well.

Just normally renamed it as you would any file or used an app to rename the internal name?

Since when? I strongly disagree with you I have used exfat on 2 Nintendo Switch’s for a very longtime now I have never come across any issues with cfw booting, homebrew apps, xci emulation you name it not once! Your problem is not down to exfat, it’s down to cheap made MicroSD cards or “claimed” genuine MicroSD cards that are made in bad locations and bought generally online, nothing more! I would never buy a MicroSD card online I always purchase mine from the UK pcworld even if I have to pay premium prices but the point is I have never had an issue with any cards or “exfat” or any switch related issues.

Edit: also the sd reader in the Nintendo Switch is not very robust there not designed to have a MicroSD card shoved in & out the slot every 5 minutes. I had to change one on my first Switch but worked flawless with the new reader fitted.

Hi everyone! I am doing testing of different scenarios (300+ XCI files, blank XCI files, corrupted XCI files (random data)), and so far I haven't been able to reproduce the boot error.

You can see my test results here: -> link <-

I am trying to reproduce so maybe I can help in some way.

When reporting errors, it would be very nice to have detailed info in the following format:

SXOS: v2.9.2 (emuNAND)
FW: v9.0.0
Internal SD: exFAT
USB Storage: exFAT
Problem: Error with USB storage only
Details: I have my XCI files at "--specific location Internal or External (usb)--"

Those using mass USB storage devices with external power, make sure that it is not configured to sleep when data is not accessed, some USB storage devices have to be configured on a PC to remove that setting (SeaGate for example) they have custom tools to do so:

SeeYa!

Is it normal that when you load an XCI any time during your session of the Switch being on (doesn't matter if you even change to another game that's not an XCI) you have to put the Switch to sleep twice? First time it always comes back on by itself then second time it stays asleep. It's been happening to me for months. I know it's something on SX OS because if I load an XCI then Switch to Atmosphere through homebrew menu by using Fusee-Starter I then only have to put it to sleep once.
