ESRB shows listing for PC port of Atlus's Catherine

IMG_2728.JPG

A rather odd picture has showed up over on the Steam page for Bayonetta. SEGA, who is in charge of publishing for the game, uploaded a picture of a sheep to the community page, with the simple caption of, "Baa". This led fans to believe that Catherine, another title that SEGA published, will soon make its way to PC. Furthermore, as of January 4, 2019, Catherine's ESRB rating has been updated to reflect a new platform: PC. A definitive version of the game titled Catherine: Full Body is currently in development for PlayStation 4, while the speculated PC version is thought to be for the original game, now called Catherine Classic. After this, yet another sheep tease appeared on an additional SEGA game page: Valkyria Chronicles 4. If this indeed is a port of the game to Steam, it would mark the first modern PC port for an Atlus developed title, perhaps paving the way for more of their games to head to the platform in the future.

Yeah, I never really liked puzzle games, especially with added pressure, the biggest problem with them is "Planning ahead"
I would make a excuse that I'm not a psychic or know the future, but I'll be more realistic. If it requires the same dedication, knowledge precision, and reflexes that it takes to play tetris or Puyo Puyo, then I don't stand a chance.
Nah not like that, if i remember correctly it has a difficulty setting plus i played it through in one go and didn't have to replay a lot of levels to progress so it ain't that hard. There is bonus content tho wich is called the tower of babel if i remember correctly and that has a higher difficulty. That tower of babel thing btw is just puzzles and you don't need to play that to know the story

I hope this is a sign that persona 5 will be released on PC at some point. I am not sure why atlus wants to keep it sony exclusive. Do they get a certain incentives or something?

Wow, never heard of the game before. Is it any good?
The art style looks pretty reminiscent of Persona 5.
Not only that, it uses the same Game Engine as Persona 5. More so the Graphics Engine but yeah. It would be nice to one day see a Persona 5 PC and Switch Port though.

Would love a proper PC version too, but I went and bought a PS3 Slim just to play Persona 5 (paid 20 euros for a 500GB model with overheating issues, fixed it by changing the thermal paste), then modded it to install the game to HDD since the loading times from BD were terrible, but then the loadings were still very slow and the game looked like crap both on my 1440p monitor and 4K TV, so I decided to play it on the RPCS3 emulator, but I had to upgrade my CPU (and motherboard+RAM) for it to be playable. Now I'm more than halfway through it and it's an amazing game, but if a PC port comes out while I'm still playing the game or soon after I finish it I'll be kinda mad at myself; the news about the upcoming(?) improved version of the game is "bad" enough for my mental sanity...

It's like a puzzle game, except the focus is on, well...two girls named Catherine and Katherine, with the girl you choose basically being the equivalent of the Law and Chaos routes in mainline SMT games, and more, how should I put it...titillating features!

no way atlus would be so stupid as to give us the original on pc when everyone else is getting a q job
Yeah it wouldn't feel very "fair", ofc they have no obligation of sorts to release their work on PC but if we do get a straight port of the old version while current gen consoles get an improved version I'd be kinda disappointed, and I know I'm not the only one. Nothing wrong with the original, but it would be Atlus/SEGA throwing the proverbial "token bone" to distract us while console owners get a proper meal.

Source on this?
The original Catherine is made with Gamebryo (same engine as Fallout 3 and Oblivion, so where are all the engine haters? :) ) and it specifically states on the Persona 5 wiki that Persona 5 has it's own engine, or well; "While Catherine used the third-party Gamebryo game engine, Persona 5 used a specially-created engine."
Are you saying this is more than a port?

I just bought this game on sale whomp whomp.... Oh wells! The games actually pretty fun and while I don't plan on buying the game again it's great that they're releasing it for PC after all this time.

I guess we both have different pieces of info. If anything the rendering, and the assets are very similar.
