Hardware 3ds black screen of death.

So a few years ago, my 3ds XL randomly had a black screen, and it stayed infinite. I didn't really know what to do, so I searched and searched and I couldn't find a way, because my 3ds XL didn't have cfw. I tried every method, and it's still not opening, so I'm guessing it's a hard-brick. Pretty much why I came to this site for help.

Did you pull the battery? I don't know what "every method" entails... I don't think you can hard brick a completely non hacked 3ds.

I pulled out the battery and put it back in. It didn't work. Also, what I meant by using every method meaning every method that didn't use cfw. The charging light works and the blue light works, but it won't load.

What model 3DS is it?

• o3DS, o3DSXL, n3DS, n3DSXL, etc.?

Have you tried Recovery Mode?

What happens when you boot without a gamecart and no SD card?

If you have an old series 2DS/3DS, can you check if your WiFi module is loose and needs to be reseated?

If you have a n3DSXL, do you hear background music in HOME Menu despite having black screens?

My model is a new 3ds xl with nsmb2. I don't hear any background noise from the home screen, I have tried recovery mode, I opened it with game card and sd card and no game card and no sd card.

If you had CFW, there might have been a clue to what's wrong with yours.

It's a crap shot, but maybe you have this type of BSoD. Try booting the n3DSXL with the camera flex cable unplugged.

Read that thread I linked and you'll know. It's a thin, orange cable that's part of the camera assembly. Disconnecting it fixes a certain black screens of death common in n3DSXL. This might or might not be what your 3DS has.
