do you have many background modules? like the ftp one or the cheating one? they might cause extra drain.

otherwise, 5-7% is what i get with no use and airplane mode

No, not a single one. [EDIT:] Wait, they would be active even in sleep mode?

So in fact, like everyone has this problem, but I am the first one to report it?
Yeah exactly the same drain as me so I think it's quite normal
No, it's not "normal" (as you can see, about 0,5-1% per day would be normal); but appearantly a very common problem. I think it's really strange it got unnoticed until now.

I don't know, I just know that all batteries are not the same. Some degrade way faster than others. It's just like what you have with a gpu or cpu called silicon lottery. It's the same with a battery

But they wouldn't degrade _that_ quickly. Also it seems that most people with CFW have the same or a similar problem. The difference between 5-7% and 7-10% can be explained by battery quality, but not the difference between 0,5-1% and 5-10%

It depends. I have mine since launch and used it multiple hours a day. Some may have it since launch but use it less each day. Some may have it since launch but always power it off while others always put it in sleep mode. Other can always use it in the dock while others don't. Some switches maybe be a lot younger while others like mine a lot older. All those factors are at play. If Nintendo put cheap batteries in it than especially all those factors are at play.

Batteries like that can vary a decent amount right from manufacture. Edit: rest of this was wrong and dated information...

batteries like that can very a decent amount right from manufacture. One thing I have thought about too, is that everyone here likely keeps their battery charged most the time (I do, I'll just buy a replacement down the road). You can degrade the battery just from not using it (discharging it) while it sits at 100%. When not in use it is usually the best, and most efficient to "store" these kind of batteries at 50%. Also these kinds of batteries like to be fully cycled, which I dont believe happens too often as well. All these factors can play a role in each batteries life cycle.
batteries do not like to be fully cycled. The more you use them on low charge the faster they will degrade. Letting them die 100 percent kills them the fastest which is why I've stayed away from autorcm to prevent that from happening by mistake.

is has nothing to do with degrading. I have 6 switch consoles to compare. all drain about 5% a day in airplane mode. completely normal. no one get 2 months of standby!
about 2 weeks of standby is exactly what nintendo sells this thing at.

Yeah see that's what I've been saying that it is a normal thing. Atleast someone agrees xp

It is possible to get to 2 months. Even 5% per day is quite fast (compared to my switches)

Now I tested it again, it was about 10% (from 96% to 86%) in about 30 hours in OFW (but AutoRCM) without game running, so about 8% per day. Now I enabled full airplane mode (no WLAN, no Bluetooth) in OFW and have a look at the percentage loss in the next day.

I stand corrected, my knowledge mistaken. Looks like Li-ion batteries have depth of discharge without a need for full cycles.
So yes using less % from 100, and back is much better to do.

A bit better. But the best thing would be to use the switch only to like 30% and then only charge up to 80% again (and at best stay there, but obviously that's not possible). Charging 98 to 100% often also isn't really good

this is also incorrect. Use the batteries up to about 30 percent minimum and back up to 100 percent. It's good to always go back to 100 percent and this is obvious with the switch in the dock because that is the default way of using it. If you don't keep the switch docked at least charge it to 100 percent once you've hit about 30 percent. I have 5 year old devices that still hold charge like new using this method.
