I don't care about playing online but I do care about updating my xci games. Anyway to update them after cdn ban. I do see people putting updates online and I can download them but how would I install them. And last question is will the future games require a switch hardware update because then I will be in real trouble. Thanks

you cant update XCI's best bet is to ditch xci's and use NSP's which can be Game Update and DLC

Thank you for your help. Now last question. Will future hardware updates will be needed to play latest games in the future.
Yes they will require a higher firmware, it you go to the games section of the forum you'll find a thread with games and their supported fw. Fw v 6.0 is coming soon and I think any Games coming out starting December will require this firmware.

But will it be possible to update the system firmware with a nps or xci game where the higher firmware is on?

You may be able to have someone on 6.x decrypt the title and use that decrypted copy on a lower firmware, assuming that the title does not rely on actual new functionality shipped in 6.x, but it is much less painful to go up to the latest firmware once CFW for said firmware is available.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, my PC can't run most AAA games so i wont

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
