Homebrew Can I still get CFW on 11.7?

A few days ago, I wanted to get CFW on my old 2DS, but I wasn't fast enough to get a dsiware game (mainly because I was busy with other things and I don't have a credit card). However, since I found that you could get homebrew by getting Sub Diver Steel Wars and getting your seed mined, etc. (I can put a link to a vid showing this if you want), I decided to atleast get the game just in case I decide to get homebrew and not CFW.

Now that 11.8 is out, I can't access the eShop but I heard that there is a homebrew app that lets you access the eShop even if you haven't updated your 3DS. What I'm thinking is: can I use the seedminer method to get homebrew and then get a dsiware game while still being on 11.7 to then get CFW?

(Sorry if this is a bit garbage, 1st time creating a thread.)
TL;DR: Is it possible to get homebrew with Steel Wars (considering I can open the game) and then get CFW by using a homebrew app like eShop?

You honestly can just update and use seedminer that way or buy an NTRBoot compatible cart and installed B9S that way. Any method in the "All Version Method" will work regardless of OFW updates.
