Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did, but still doesnt create the titles folder. Maybe I should reinstall luma?

I don't think that's the problem. I also don't had a titles folder, so I created it by myself and everything works. Maybe check if you have used the right title ID? What game do you want to use?

Thanks for these patches. Would Pokemon Fire Red work with the speed patch? Or is there any other way to increase the speed or add frame skip option for gba games?

Thanks

No, this is for the gen 1 and 2 Pokemon games, specifically their VC emulators. GBA games are run natively, the 3DS reboots into "GBA mode" when you launch a GBA game.

Oh okay thanks. I've got Pokemon Yellow working but Pokemon Crystal don't working for me. Could someone let me know the titleid for Crystal EU? That's the only thing I can think of which is wrong as yellow works fine

Thanks

How does the button repeat work?

I'm playing Red, facing Gary at Nugget Bridge. Used Rage with my Charmeleon on his Pigeotto that Sand-Attacked me twice, then took him out. I'm now facing his Abra who is using Teleport, not working, then Rage which is missing every single time. I want to have the button repeat on so I don't have to keep hitting A over and over until the attack hits.

Mind you, I've been doing it for 10 minutes straight and I don't think my PP is going down... So maybe I'm in an eternal loop. I haven't saved my game since Pewter City Gym, :rofl2:

Rage move in Gen 1 is a horrible thing and never use it - It locks you, never runs out of PP and thanks to a bug after miss its accuracy drops to 1/255.

Awesome Patches!
That full width takes me right back to the Old GBA days,
Some people hated wide mode, but I used it all the time.

Hey!

A few days ago, I was digging through a VC disassembly and found what looked like a debug menu. I'm not the first person to find these, but I had never seen it before and decided to make some patches for it.

The best use for this is being able to speed up or slow down virtual console games. You can download the patches below. :)

Patches:
- Full Width Screen
- Touch bottom screen for debug menu
- Touch bottom Screen for debug menu, and have `Emulator Speed` patched to have a max of 10 (regular is 4)

EDIT: If you want full width and the speed 10 debug menu in one patch, LooneyNoons has combined them into one patch that you can download here.

Usage:
To use these patches, you'll need the latest Luma CFW.
1. Download the zip file below
2. Pick out a patch you want to use and rename it to code.ips
3. Place your code.ips in '/luma/titles/<title id>/code.ips'
- Your title id will be different depending on the game you wish to use this patch for

Notes:
- Gen 1 and Gen 2 virtual console games have different patches - do not mix them up
- Gen 1 games are Red, Blue, and Yellow
- Gen 2 games are Gold, Silver, and Crystal
- I have not tested them for all regions, but they should work
- These should only work for Pokemon virtual console games

Have fun! :D

Hey so when I go to /luma/titles/ the titles for any of the pokemon games don't appear. I made sure to open them and create save files. Any ideas why they aren't showing up?

Create them yourself... they're not supposed to appear "magically" :)

Can I just recommend everyone to make use of Lasagna? It’ll automatically create folders of all your games (that have save files), so no having to bother with Title ID’s yourself, and it’s a convenient way to manage patches on the 3DS itself, can easliy activate and deactivate desired patches with no need for a pc there.

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
