Hello everyone.

i have been on 5.5.1 and been using the internet explorer hack but now i want to install haxchi since i have brain training game on my purchased list.

The problem is i cant get past this system error , i cant delete it, and when i add the brain training game to the download list, it is waiting as a pending download , most probably due to system update error.

Tried deleting "system error" but no luck, there is no option to do so.

Tried pushing brain training game "download first" and it doesnt prioritize that.

Things i have tried before writing:

1-Tried formatting the console and resetted connection settings( using wi fi) ,

2-used home wifi, then deleted home wifi and used mobile hotspot, still no luck.

3- if i don't enter the block dns address it starts downloading , if i enter block dns address i get this error.

i am stuck and cant continue downloading brain training game due to this.

i can keep using internet browser hack but as i already have purchased the game it would be a shame.

Switch the wiiu on load to homescreen then pull the power cord out the back of the wiiu with the wiiu still switched on then wait 10 secs then plug it back in and the system update notice will be gone and your ds game will download.

That worked thanks.
i wish i had written here before formatting.

So now we have the problem of restoring my game saves on my hard drive, it is nit recognized now that i formatted.

i hope there is an easy way to make it work again without going through the reinstallation of the games and losing my beloved pikmin 3 progress:(

AFAIK no easy way to restore content. The encryption key used for the USB drive changes when you format, which makes the wii u unable to read it.

Yep that is the problem the op has no way now to rescue the saves. They could have been backed up before the format then restored but now it's to late.

And it is due to
1- me not thinking beforehand

Nintendo wasn't planning on users blocking updates.
yes thats right.

my comment was based on the fact this update thing was a problem for the people who had no intent on modification too.
When I searched this problem on google I came across some threads that people were complaining about not being able to update although they wanted to 'update' their consoles.

i guess nintendo wasn't planning on blocking their updates too :D

In a thread they mention this problem was fixed for Japanese consoles while US and EU consoles still didnt get a fix. That's why I said 'a simple problem nintendo didn't care to fix.'

I think you can solve the problem with your HDD by using the EyeKey's tools (dumping your USB HDD) or injecting a USB key (see Dimok's post: https://gbatemp.net/index.php?threads/450172/). The USB seeds are only increased by 1, so you just need to subtract 1 from the last digit of your current USB seed (from seeprom.bin).

We may try to dump the USB HDD content.

Do you have a previous backup of OTP and SEEPROM? If you have them (and you have not formatted your console before), you can try to run wfsdump: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wfsdump-pc-util-for-dumping-wfs-devices-wiiu-file-system.478480/. If you don't have them, you can dump them by running OTP2SD (https://wiiubru.com/appstore/#/app/otp2sd) and SEEPROM2SD: https://wiiubru.com/appstore/#/app/seeprom2sd). After running these apps, seeprom.bin and otp.bin files should appear in the root of the SD card. Now, you need to decrease by 1 the last byte of your USB seed. Open the seeprom.bin file in a hex editor and decrease by 1(hexadecimal operation) the number you see in 0BF. Save the file. After that, you can try to run wfsdump.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the detailed walkthrough.

Well, I think you can't brick your console by just dumping OTP and SEEPROM. As we don't have the key injector developed by @dimok, you will simply access the content of your USB HDD (if everything works fine) and, after that, inject the save files. You could alternatively encrypt your USB HDD with a modified USB key, but it is much more complex now.

Hello again, I think I am in the final phase of this.

I have downloaded the otp and seeprom files
opened a hex editor and found the 0BF

First of all, don't show all this line, because it contains you Console ID... It is safe just to show the last 12 bytes.

Now you have two possibilities:
- Ask for the key injector written by @dimok (the old file is not available now)
- Dump your HDD content with @EyeKey 's wfsdump, take your save files back and inject it again. You will have to reinstall your games.

not sure if this has been mentioned, but I believe u can install the game using usb helper. remove the fake ticket after doing so since a legit ticket is created the moment u select purchase. it's not downloaded with the game. I've heard this works. test before installing cbhc if that's what you plan to do.

I have installed mocha and now running a dump for rednand.
Can I just enable the new(modified) seeprom.bin file redirection in mocha cfw and profit?

1st possibility - I dont know how to use it, I looked at that page and some people requested links already and none exists yet. Maybe if all else fails I will ask him myself
Now with the 2nd possibility- I downloaded wfs dump but didnt work on my pc, I dont know if i should trigger it with command line( dont know a bit about command line) even after trying with admin priviliges the exe quits after showing a quick pop up.
So it would be convenient if it worked, but didnt work out, if you can tell me why I am open
