Is there any way that I can inject an old garden.dat backup into a game that has already been updated? Or, does anyone know if I could overwrite an updated New Leaf cartridge with a pre-updated Powersaves backup without causing any kind issues?

Sadly no.. if the game is already updated, I doubt there's a way to revert it back unless you play on a ds that havent had the update installed in and that is not connected to the internet. I tried doing that on my 2ds that is still on firmware 11.0 and always offline and it worked just fine with garden.dat

Yes, it's possible. Delete the update data, reinject the old garden.dat then download the update again.

Would I also have to delete the update/garden_plus files on my SD card before injecting?

Is there a way to force Gracie into town with a Special Visitor byte? I would like to upgrade my store, but I also want to make sure that it's properly flagged, instead of just forcing a different main st building into the file.

It is still the acnl save editor that you have to use. However i think it was said that it wasn't going to support ram editing.

So... I have to use the homebrew method? Is the method had changed since the amiibo update? On which version of the console do I have to make the homebrew method? I'm sorry for asking all of those questions... ._.'

I'm loving the New Save Editor so far! Would it be possible to view Villager's original towntune/town name from where they moved from? Or a way to reset the bank to 0 bells?

Hi~
I tried my best to read most of the new messages since the update on Animal Crosing : New Leaf came out.... but yeah...there's too much... ._.
I used the ACNL Save Editor with the RAM method (I really don't understand how to use the homebrew method ... well I'm french I understand english but when it comes to specific subject like... the homebrew stuff... I'm a fool... ._.) so yeah... uhm... I have an old 3DS at 9.5.0, a 2DS at 11.1.0 and a New 3DS at 11.2.0 and I wanted to know how to edit the game now? Which method do I have to use? Is it still the ACNL Save Editor? 'cause I'm a little bit lost with all these messages... ^-^'
Thank you for your help~
For the 11.1.0 and the 9.5, use Browser hax.
First, download the starter kit here then extract it into your SD card. It should be somewhere on your 3ds. Old 3ds has it on the right side, i don't know about the new 3ds since i don't have it.

  • Go to System Settings. Then change the datetime to January 1, 2000, 00:00.

  • Use the browser 'Initialize savedata' option, before any page gets loaded triggering the browser-version message.
Next, go to here on the 3ds:
http://3ds.mordor.space/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php

You should have the bottom screen flashing different colours. If it stops on one, go back to the browser and press 'initialise savedata'.
Once you have opened homebrew, press start and exit, then turn the 3ds off.
Now, you need JKSV, just download it here and then place the files into the sd card. It should install it. Now open the 3ds again with ACNL in and open homebrew. Select JKSV, and then click cartridge for a physical copy or i think its called system apps? or something like that for a installed on 3ds copy.

Set your date to January 1st, 2000 and the time to 00:00.

Here to report using the 2.9 beta version of the editor I was able to perfectly edit my garden_plus including changing almost every acre (Nothing impossible for the game to generate normally like two rivers) add patterns to my mayor using acnl files, place patterns down on map, Move structures including ones to into illegal locations (misplaced my bridge a tile off so I cant use it and the recycling shop is almost on the train tracks lol), change town hall color, move rocks, and place trees on cement. Digital copy of game, just started town, no spot pass on, used the save manager which comes with the homebrew starter pack, NA region, n3ds.
Due to changing my acres the fishing dock is no longer connected to the beach, so would that just be the island storage bin I need to move up or do I have to change the acre itself?
and thnx for this editor btw! Its awsome
Oh! and is there a way to delete the pavement under player houses? I put a player house on the beach but the stone pavement is floating above the house. Ive got that in another town that hasn't been updated if thats makes a difference

Is Holden's (new yellow hamster with red overall) furniture correct? I've also noticed that checking the default settings for villagers messes up how some furniture are organized in their houses. Like sometimes a bookcase would be facing the wall and sometimes you wouldn't be able to access some furniture because they're placed in the wrong direction

I'm not sure if either of these are solvable, but there's two issues I've found;

1.) When using a double wall layout to replace the second beach, half of the second acre and the entire acre leading up to the new wall ends up playing the "ocean sfx" as though near a beach.

2.) Similar to the last, when using a double wall layout, the ocean boundaries are a bit messed up. The ocean boundary line is still positioned as though a second beach was in place, despite now being cut off properly by the new cliff. However, due to the extension, going go the boundary and swimming downwards allows you to see the abyss. I'm wondering if it's possible to fix the boundary and make it similar to the side where no beach is on?

Issue 1 is a part of how the Rom handles data and can't be fixed with save editing. It requires modifying the code.bin (iirc) to understand a no-side-beach layout which is still being investigated.

The second issue is likely a similar scenario to the first, in that the Rom doesn't understand what's happening. Alternatively it could just be the specific acres you're using. Some acres look the same at first glance in the editor but are slightly different t (bold lines oriented in different directions) to see if that's related to your issue, changing the acres involved would be the best way to find out

Thank you tvHead! i-i I can finally make a garden.dat file... ... I was just wondering... can I turn a gardenram.dat into a garden.dat? And... how I can do it? ^-^'
Thank you~ I'm a complete Newbie on homebrowser... ._. I don't understand a thing... it's a miracle that I could make a garden.dat!

Has anyone had issues using save manager? I have been able to import and export my save with no problem.

So maybe give that a try if other methods dont work.

Do you have to go INTO the campsite to see the Caravan section of the editor? I had Tim & Tom go in, didn't go in, and didn't see them in the editor.
