But kernel is fully replaced by mesosphere now.
this would be a "yes, but aktsually....!" moment,

since the .kips bundled with the kernel are loaded by mesosphere, and is not replaced.

.kip being kernel plugin.

remake in atmosphere: loader, ncm, pm, sm, boot, spl, fs

checklist:

[ X ] loader ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/loader/source )
[ X ] ncm ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/ncm/source )
[ X ] pm ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/pm/source )
[ X ] sm ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/sm/source )
[ X ] boot ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/boot/source )
[ X ] spl ( https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/spl/source )
[ ] fs (currently only mitm - https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/ams_mitm/source/fs_mitm )

the parts he asks about, is not implemented in atmosphere -> ask nintendo

Just asking, is 22.5.0 compatible/working or does Atmosphere need an update? I’m seeing some having issues and some booting in fine, even in the stock mmu.

emummc and nogc patches, and am specific homebrew fix needs to be added (but only for 22.5.0 to have functioning emummc / nogc patches)

sysnand should work just fine.

(sys-patch 1.6.2.1 adds the am homebrew fix patch support for 22.5.0 as well)

the people whose systems dont load on 22.5.0 on sysnand have bloat like missioncontrol etc other sysmodules.

they aren't able to boot because missing am patch required to have homebrew run

edit:
official atmosphere support for it was added

Last edited by bth,
you can do any kernel altercations if you can sweetie. its your own device afterall :gba:
the blind should not try to lead the deaf kind of deal.

no he cant.

the kernel might be reimplemented as mesosphere, but the switch kernel has a concept of kernel inline plugins (.KIP), which is part of the kernel itself, and the parts he wants changed is part of FS, which is not reimplemented.

hello, does someone know if themes and/or homemenu replacement (I want to give SwitchU a try) are ban risky?
If they are, how can I prevent atmosphere to load my themes in sysnand but keep them in emunand?

if you install the themes only on emmunand then they will only effect emmunand they also are implimented when you launch sysnand with cfw but they are not permanent when you load stock ofw it will be with out the theme. as far as i know there is no way to install a theme to the sysnand as what the installer does is it extracts a copy of the menu files and then loads new theme over the original and is loaded by atmosphere and they are stored in atmosphere/contents/01000000001000 so you dont really need to worry about the sysnand and themes but yes only do it on the emmunand and you will have no problem.
