Thanks for pointing out that dependecy. I just checked the "otherapp" payloads on smealum's site and they are only available for 9.0 and above.
So given my wishes (not using WiFi on Sysnand and using MSET for rxTools) I'm out of luck.
So it seems as if I need to upgrade to 9.0-9.2 and use MenuHax to launch rxTools and then use MSET for Decrypt9 or use HBL with the otherapp payload. Do you think this would work?

Thank you very much for your patience, your knowledge and your help! :)
Or use the beta 2 of 3.0 I think it has the tools.

But isn't it advised to use Nightlies over Beta because the boot success rate is higher on O3DS? And does Beta 2 support Emunand up to 10.7?

I use beta 2 on both my 2ds and my n3ds, and some friends on a o3ds and a 2ds and they boot just fine

people says gateways "soon" on their update sucks...
because they release stable update late...

but how bout rxtool's "soon" means? still no stable release after roxas75 2.6 version... almost a year...
and now, they become quiet...

Huh, no. There's a lot of stable CFW around here who releases much sooner than Gateway. For example, ARN. And not of any CFWs devs around here are paid. Gateway is a shitty team, period.

That said, RxTools dev is really slow, he said he was busy IRL (yes, they have a life, too) and most of the dev team left, so the developpment of RxTools is either very slow or stopped. You have alternatives like ARN/Cakes/Rei.

Also keep in mind that most of the devs here still go to school so rxCFW takes a back seat to their studies. Right now the build of rxCFW with arm9loaderhax support I've been using for my O3DS seems stable enough and boots in a flash. I've been using it since release and I haven't encountered any issues. I'm using the 012a9c2 release by the way.

No idea but I'll find out soon enough as I'm in the process of getting the OTP from an N3DS as I type this. I'll report back but I don't see why it shouldn't.

thanks for your response, as youve said, that build is stable for your daily usage... i think its now time for me to shift to a9lh... cuz i dont want to shift to a9lh without stable rxcfw... hope its working also on n3ds... anyway thanks and have a nice day...

Yes I am. I really love the fast boot into rxCFW emuNand with arm9loaderhax. If it wasn't for the split second rxCFW splash you'd think it was a sysNand boot it's that quick. Of course now they have better and easier tools for getting the OTP as I had to install Windows into a Virtual Machine, as I use a Mac, to compile the arm9loaderhax installer.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

i think only the red mario kart edition phat was v5

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
