Yup, everything works great, and we essentially have a recovery built in now.

By the way looking to do some spring cleaning on the SD card, do I still need these files?

lastbootcfg
patched_firmware_sys.bin
updatedsysnand

Not sure if they were created by older releases or not. Guess they do no harm but I thought I'd ask. I'm running sysnand as my main.

"installeda9lh" is superfluous unless you use the .dat version and have A9LH too. The others are to be expected.

On another note, thanks @Aurora Wright! Got D9 booting with L :P also changed it so it can boot from "Decrypt9WIP.bin".

Why does the screen backlight turns on immediately after turning the 3ds on (on high brightness, regardless of settings), and turns off, and turns back on again (with correct brightness this time)? Is it because of A9LH's screen init? Is there a way to turn it off?

Yes, it's because of screen init on A9LH. There's no way of turning it off.
