THIS IS JUST A SHORTCUT TO GATEWAY USING MODDED HBL CIA. NOTHING GROUNDBREAKING. IT HAS A GREAT BANNER AND ICON TOO

Hello this is a custom made cia to boot gateway as a cia. Its main purpose is to be a shortcut to gateway using arm9hax. It is basically a homebrew launcher cia which is set to autoboot gateway and is using hax 2.1 and not 2.5-2.6. I personally have better boot rate with 2.1 than 2.5 atm. This has a different title id too so it can sit along side the oringinal homebrew cia too. It boots the payload which is set to gate.3dsx from a folder on your sd card called otherapp21 so it dosent interferr with your current payloads. It has a nice icon and banner too.

To use just place the gate.3dsx on your sd root from the download, and next place the otherapp21 folder in the download from your region on the root too. You can delete any payloads in this folder that does not match your system. Then install cia. This cia will not give 100% boot rate and it might not be any better than just going into the homebrew launcher and booting from there but i like it. If your using menuhax with ctrbootmanager keep using that, im using arm9haxloader and it does the job for me. This cia can only be boot from 9.2 non firmware spoofed system nand. So if using reinand mod 3.6.1 hold L while booting.

Theres no Gateway launcher.dat in this download you need to get that yourself.

It has none of my own work ive just put this together and made some hex changes. @Rohul1997 did the main part. Sorry for the crappy video too.
It has the most common payload firmwares in the package, you only need the one of your system in the otherapp21 folder.

New release here thanks to @Rohul1997 this version removes some of the unneeded services that is running in hax. So it should be a more reliable boot

Its just a homebrew launcher cia set to autoboot gateways 3dsx with custom banner and icon and can run along side the original hbl cia with hax 2.1. Thats all. A shortcut

yes both those 2 consoles in the video both have arm9hax and i hold L with reinand mod to system nand 9.2 firm and run the cia.

I asked a few days ago if someone could make a custom homebrew launcher cia with custom logo for gateway. @Columbo2811 this is much appreciated. I was using the yellows8 cia and just renamed GW.3dsx to boot.3dsx and placed on root of mSD. For me it was just about customizing the icons. Thank you. I could not do this myself. Now the only thing that would be easier is if Gateway just plays nice and realizes they might as well embrace CFW and make a arm9loaderhax.bin to load it with bootloader. People still like the Gateway cheat menu and I personally run all my custom GBC VC roms in .3ds format as some did not work as installed cias. C'mon gateway the balls in your court, AGAIN. Surprise us.

No problem. It would be nice for an official gateway cia but it would take them months to do. This is ok I get around 90% boot rate on an old 3ds, but it's not only just the entry point that fails sometimes it's the launcher.dat

Interesting little setup however I have a couple questions,

1. Is there any source available or a decompiled CIA (wish to tinker with it) [well more or less tha banner/image]
2. Is there any reason it loads gate.3dsx and not from the 3DS folder?

Actually I think #2 is probably because the payloads were hex-edited for it. I guess I'll recompile it from the source. Works great, just trying to minimize the root.

The CIA will only work on 9.0-9.2 FIRMs. So, no updated sysnand, and you need a 9.0 firmware.bin for your arm9loaderhax CFW.
