SMEA has done more in a month than hykem in 2 months
Well, Smea has a lot of data that Hykem shares and helps him and he also shares his discoveries with everyone on WiiUBrew.
So your comparasion is kind of unfair really, they both did and still do a lot of important thing for the Scene because they like to do it, and that's it.

Except that Smea is building off of the work Hykem has done and vice-versa. None of this stuff is happening in a vacuum.
Smea hasn't done much to be honest, he may helped a little bit but the others did far more than him. Not even for the 3DS, all he did was basing his work on others stuff again lol

This isnt surprising from Smea tbh, hes a very talented person. Kudos @smealum

Also, try to not turn this thread into a cesspool of whining, bitching, moaning, 'hykem this, hykem that, hykem is fake'

THIS HAS FUCK ALL TO DO WITH HYKEM.
This is what Smea has done, regardless to what Hykem has.
Please keep this on-topic, and not end up like the last thread.

It still need you to mod your WiiU to redirect nand to SD, so kinda useless for most of us sadly :P
(unless I'm wrong?)

No, the hardmod stuff you see is because Smea was so stupid and bricked his Wii U, managed to unbrick it again tho.
You can do EmuNAND stuff just with IOSU.

How is that useless? Put in SD card with emuNAND in your SD slot.
His NAND hardmod has nothing to do with this, if that's what you're saying.

I hope smea will not work on only homebrew, will work on cfw and cfw. Because wii u better than 3ds :D And wii u is lack of very cfw tools (emunand...)
Note:I have New 3ds xl, not wii u :)

Can we NOT derail this topic with shitposting? "X is a hack", "Y is a phony"... Take that to the Edge of the Forum, please. If this topic has to wither and die because there is no technical discussion to be had, so be it. But at least don't derail it.

Not according to Smea:

At least both things are being actively developed. Anyone who claims Hykem has done nothing should take a good look at WiiUBrew. Anyone who says Smea never releases anything should look at my downgraded N3DS.

So, yeah. Let personal vendettas out of this thread, please.

There's a redNAND written to an SD card that he managed to cold boot from. How was he still able to install his own apps though? Wouldn't it be the same circumstances as a sysNAND just not the sysNAND.

If it works anything like a 3DS emuNAND (and IIRC, "redNAND" is how it was originally called), then it probably has the signature checking disabled, in the same way you're able to install homebrew CIAs on 3DS.

Oh, so he was able to modify the NAND before he wrote it to the SD card? I guess I am not to familiar with stuff I can't really grasp how that works.
