I asked this in the tutorial thread, but I hope re-posting it in another one in hopes of getting an answer sooner wouldn't hurt.

Will I be freely able to switch into a different SD card after I've gotten menuhax's autoboot working? I'll soon get an extra card, but I expect to encounter some sort of error once I pop it in and attempt to install cfw from scratch, once again...am I just imagining that "error"?

If i recall correctly you'll need to reinstall menuhax with each new sd card because it's linked to emunand which is linked to your sd card. I ran across this error before. Not sure sbout now though because i'm safely set up on a 128gb mem card

So reinstalling is all that has to be done, and menuhax is the only 'thing' affected, yes? Thanks, that's actually all I wanted to know.

I think you need to backup old mem card.

On new SDcard
Create new emunand partition with emunand9

copy all data from old mem to new mem card
then restore emunand.bin to new card

Then everything should work

Oh thanks, I know about exporting but I'll save that in my notes anyway. I'll still be using the old SD, and there's no issue in needing to transfer anything thus far, so I'm good.

I have a new 3ds XL with RXtools emunand firmware 9.2 installed so i can install and load my games from the homescreen.

So i wanted to play with some amiibo, unfortunately it appears 9.2 firmware doesnt support amiibo.

Is there a way to upgrade to a custom firmware that supports amiibo? How would i do this?

Otherwise is there a way to get NFC support on my current firmware? or is there a better way to get this?

Hello everyone. When I bought my 64GB SDXC SDcard, I used a program to format it from exFAT to FAT32 so that the O3DS supports the SDcard. I had selected 64KB allocation size back then.
When I created my emuNAND using EMUNAND9 HomeBrewLauncher App, it formatted the whole SDcard so I guess the 64kb allocation size I had chosen is now gone and I guess it has the stock allocation size of the EMUNAND9 app(which I don't know how small/big it is; my guess is small).

So the question is, is there something that I can do to change it back to 64KB? I can backup my SDcard and make a NAND.bin backup of my emuNAND; these are not problems. The problem is the program that I'm going to use since it might delete the ~1GB reserved partition for the emuNAND and if I use EMUNAND9 again, it will change the default allocation size(which I want to be 64KB). Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Use SaveDataFiler to extract the save. After you extract it, on emuNAND, launch SaveDataFiler and go to the far right tab. Press the button that corresponds to importing the save to SD. Your save should now be on the cia version!

My other roommate is also getting the "cannot be used" message with the browser, but he's on 10.3.0-28U and has used the browser in the past. Is there an issue with TubeHax preventing the browser from functioning at all, now? Or is there something I'm completely missing? The only steps I took with the second system are:

- Set the DNS settings to use TubeHax's DNS server.
- Copy the Homebrew Starter Pack to the SD card
- Start the browser and select Initialize Save Data
- Restart the browser to initialize new data
- Close the browser, activate the camera, scan the QR code to go to the browserhax site

hi everyone quick question, i have a o3ds using menuhax and rxtools emunand autoboot can i just copy the sd card files and extract and burn the emunand on a bigger sd card with no headaches?

Ok so here it goes. I hope this is not the incorrect place to ask xD

I know 10.4 is now out and that browserHaxx is out of question. A friend of mine has a N3DS and he was sitting in 9.5 sysNand... he wanted to install CFW and such to it. I pointed him to the correct tutorials that I used to hack my own console and asked him to wait for us to meet so I could help if something went wrong.

He got impatient (got busy with family matters this weekend) and he started the downgrade guide. The thing is that guide if you are not on 10.3 will surely fail while doing the downgrade and will result in a partial downgrade (it happened to me on two consoles I've already downgraded... mine was on 10.3 so it went smoothly).

He tried calling me but since I was busy I wasn't able to answer him... the only thing he had to do was start the 3DS WITHOUT the microSD card on it and I will boot into a partially downgraded sysNAND... run browserHaxx again and attempt another downgrade procedure and that would make it a complete downgrade ( I did this with 2 consoles already and they are now running reiNAND 3.1 with 10.4 on Emunand and 9.2 Sysnand) but since this guy never looked for info and such he just did an "emergency recovery" pressing L + R + A + D-UP and "recovered from a bricked device" and well it updated to 10.4 now so he is literally screwed from any downgrades.

The question is... this guy has a physical copy of Cubic Ninja... so I want to know if we can use it as an entry point for HBL and then attempt a 9.2 downgrade again from there?

I've already told him he must WAIT until 10.4 gets a new entry point but I just wanted to know if downgrading from 10.4 to 9.2 is possible.

i am not an expert but to my knowledge there is alot that goes into having a kernel exploit work properly, maybe if he gets lucky like my friend and gf that i told not to update 6 months ago then something will come but right now i think we need memchuckhax2 or whatever they are calling it to function properly before sysupdater will be made again unofficaly for 10.4. you are right though right now 10.3 is safe to downgrade from but other fw is a bad idea

well in the usa i had a black o3dsxl and i traded it into gamestop once i updated and my hardmod wouldnt stay soldered in lol they gave me 100$ when i only spend 120 through nintendo. in my specific state we have alot of 2ds,n3dsxls that should be hackable. he could wait but if he wants cias and the like trading it in for another system is just quicker of course.
and just so you know i used sysupdater to update from 8.1 to 9.2 and 9.9 to 10.3 with no problem so you should be able to upgrade a 9.5 unit.good luck to your friend

Thanks m8! ANd well yeah... he will mostly try to trade it for another one of just sell it and buy a new one... Although we don't have GameStop here xD but it's ok... I guess someone will be willing to pay for the console and use it with legit stuff... since he indeed wants to use cias and such... he as me... wants to CFW it for Monster Hunter X
