Is it possible to play Monster Hunter X on a blue button sky3ds? There's no template for it so I would assume not but is there a way to make a fake template just to play offline? I have the region free ninjhax and the game just not the template.

I just set up menuhax by following the Gateway guide. Now that it is set up, is Internet still required, or can I fill sysnand with fake access points again? Also, can the Gateway .3dsx boot file be run immediately (ds boots up, skips HBL, straight to gateway emunand?)

Thanks,
Ace

Nand in general are 2 GB

Technical, cia are installed into the emunand /Sysnand folder in Nintendo 3ds folder
It just the key to use those is in the nand.
So cia is backed up to say as long as you don't delete the folder

Beside, why not use emunand tool 1.0.1. (not 1.0.3)
You are already doing stuff on the computer

Not sure if this has been asked before, but is there a way to exclude backing up cia installs when backing up the "nintendo 3ds" folder? I'd like to do so because it'll take me way too long to transfer 25gb worth of data to my computer and I'm already keeping my original game.cia files anyway in case I need to reinstall them.

If I can exclude them when I copy my "nintendo 3ds" folder, if I ever replace these files back again to my 3ds (without the cia data), will it function properly?

Find the game Id folder and not.copy that?

Should be fine, as after it is installed, the tickets is in the nand.bin. You don't need the cia file after installing

Ah thanks, I'll try that.

Edit: So is it basically the "titles" folder and everything in there? There's a lot of folders with numbers in them and I checked a couple vs the title ids and they seem to match the games I have installed, but I didn't go through all of them.

I've been having an annoying problem where CTRBootLauncher launches into menuhax again when I pick Cakes. I've fixed it by doing rando things a few times but it's getting annoying and I can't pinpoint the issue.

Anybody here know what causes this?

EDIT: It seems like when I remove the autoboot on menuhax that makes it start as soon as the 3DS is turned on, I can use Cakes. Anyone know how to keep the Type 2 autoboot with menuhax so that I don't have to hold L but can still access Cakes?

Hi everyone !

Let me explain my situation: I got a (european) game that I downloaded on Nintendo eShop with my 3DS capture card (9.2E SysNand / 10.4E Emunand - rxTools nightly (the latest one I think)). I don't want to take my capture card outside because I don't want to risk anything with it so I decided to dump a cia version of that game to install it on my n3DS (9.2E SysNand / 10.4E Emunand - reiNand 3.1).

So I tried to dump the cia file with funkyCIA2.1. Everything seemed ok after installing it (with BigBlueMenu) but when I launch the game, I get stucked on the 3DS loading screen (you can see an example here)

I decided to try installing the game with FBI and DevMenu but I got the same issue so I decided to follow a tutorial to cryptofix and fw-spoof the game (I must admit I didn't think it would work but I had to try :P) and it didn't work at all.

Does someone know why I get stuck and can help me ? I don't think I have made anything wrong :/.

Thank you for your precious help !

See signature for current hardware/software configuration.

I am looking to buy a flashcart solely to play DS .roms. I believe I've found a winner with the R4i found here: http://3ds-flashcard.com/home/8-r4i-sdhc-3ds-rts-2013.html#/microsd-no_sd_card

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to the following questions, so..
  • Is it recommended that I use the flashcart on sysNAND or emuNAND?

  • With the number of flashcart dealers on the Internet (and the possibility of fakes), is this a reputable site?

  • And finally, is this flashcart among the list of blocked ones, requiring a fix before I start using it?
My thanks for the help.

i got one of those.
scratch what i just wrote. makes no difference, ds games started from emunand seem move you back into sysnand one way or another. just like dsi or gba vc injected games.

haven't updated my card it in a few months, but it starts on emunand (rx tool 2.6 on 10.4) and sysnand 9.2 without problems and without whitelist fixes

no idea bout the site.

Is there ANY way to recover my saves from my old /Nintendo 3DS/(various characters) folder from before I downgraded and setup 9.2/10.4?

Somehow when I did the unlink of the two, I lost access to everything on both NANDs. I've relinked my NNID on emuNAND but I have to redownload everything from the eShop and lost all my Miis, Street Plaza stuff, play times... everything. Any chance of recovering any of this stuff as I still have a complete backup of the SD card before I started?
On N3DS if it matters.

Once it is set up, you don't need an internet connection.

About Gateway, I think it should work. You should get CTRBootmanager and search up what offset you would need for gateway.

Yes. If you're on firmwares 4.5-9.2, you're good to go! If you're on 9.3-10.3, you'll need to downgrade first. There's a tutorial to downgrade here. If you're on 10.4, you won't be able to set up a CFW.

There's a tutorial to set up rxTools for the O3DS here. There's an N3DS tutorial here.

There is a chance as long as you haven't wiped your SD card or have a backup of it and have a backup of your NAND before you unlinked sysNAND from emuNAND. If you did this, you'll be able to recover your saves by restoring your NAND backup to sysNAND (and your SD card backup if you wiped it). After that, you have the option of reformatting emuNAND which should automatically carry your saves, etc... over. You'll need to unlink sysNAND and emuNAND after doing this. MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE SD CARD BEFORE YOU FORMAT SYSNAND!

The other option is, after doing the NAND backup restore, use SaveDataFiler to extract your saves from sysNAND, then use SaveDataFiler to import them to emuNAND.
