@Aroth

In your USA N3DS 9.0 Factory Title List, you have:
00040030 00009E02|0x7(?))|[CTR-N-HA3E]| amiibo settings (probably a STUB title, doesn't show up in FBI)

On my downgraded 9.2.0-20U N3DS, I just noticed with FBI v1.4.17 that I have it too, but with version 0x407 and size 4,620,288 bytes.
I also now see that this title isn't included in the pack. This means that I must have the latest version (I was on 10.3.0-28U before downgrading)
Should I be worried?

Thanx

I have not seen any reason to expect that this one title is a problem. It is a settings application. The titles that are likely to cause problems are ones that updated background services central to the device running properly. If you want to be safe though, feel free to delete the title as it will get reinstalled properly again if/when you update to 9.3

I see it on this 9.6.0-24 titlelist.csv:
0004003000009E02,USA,v7 v1031,9.3.0-21 (stage2) 9.6.0-24

Hmmm, my N3DS is really performing nicely (I used 104 titles in the DG) and I can mset into ReiNand 3.0, and menuhax 2.1 / HBL 2.5 is working better than on my O3DS.
So why fuck up a good thing, right? I guess I'll leave it there for now.

I should be making a title list of my 9.2 DG N3DS and share it, but it's such a pita doing it 104+ times.
When I do, I'll send it to you.

Don't worry about it. I can actually send you a list of everything that is installed on your N3DS sysnand atm without ever looking at it.

The only change from 9.0 to 9.2 was that home menu and cver were updated, and then you have the amiibo settings app installed as well. Other than that your title list should be the same as the one I provided.

I have a MH4U special edition N3DS that came with 9.2.0-20U installed on it. I've never done anything to the firmware but when checking my NAND titles, it's more then just the home menu and cver that are different then the ones listed here from 9.0U

Edit: In case anyone was interested, I attached a listing of all my NAND titles. format = {id, size, version}

What app did you use to get this output?

From a homebrew I made myself. I'm trying to make a homebrew application to compare the NAND titles installed on a system to a given list (my friend downgraded so I wanted to help him make sure it's all good). I'll put the code on my github when I'm done.

Thanks for this, I will take a look and see what is different.

@moghedien

I looked over your list and found four titles with different versions than mine.

0004001000021000
000400102002D500
0004003000008F02
000400DB00017302

The last two are the Home Menu and Cver, so they were expected, and the second one was a clerical error on my part. That just leaves the first, so d0o you mind loading up FBI on your sysnand (using the .3dsx version is fine, it's what I used when creating my lists) and check what it lists the version as for [CTR-N-HASE]?

It is very weird that your system has a version for that title that is not even listed on yls8's website.

Here's what FBI shows me for that title:
Code:
Title ID: 0x0004001000021000
Unique ID: 0x00021000
Product Code: CTR-N-HASE
Platform: 3DS
Category: System
Version: 0x2010
Size: 5292032 bytes (5.05MB)

Don't know if this helps anyone at all, but I was able to successfully downgrade my O3DS to 9.6 without a system format. I'm guessing it's definitely because of something with the new home menu layout option. That stuff is apparently stored partially on the SD card, though?

Ok that is rather weird...

According to this the only times the System Settings application has been updated on the N3DS is in 9.0.0-20U and 9.6.0-24U. In 9.0 it was updated to v8203 (0x200a) and in 9.6 it was updated to v9221 (0x2405). The O3DS doesn't show any other revisions between those either.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Don't know if this helps anyone at all, but I was able to successfully downgrade my O3DS to 9.6 without downgrading.

You downgraded to 9.6 without downgrading?

You realize that makes NO sense, right?

Hmm the home menu gets updated almost every time the FW is updated. The system settings application hasn't been updated since 9.6 though, and the kernel hasnt had a major revision since then either. My guess is one of those two is responsible for the problem.

Maybe it has something to do with it being a special edition 3DS?

Maybe...

I know its not a normal update file because 3DNUS spits out an error if you try and download 0004001000021000 v8308. Even if the file is no longer available for download it at least TRIES. It should only return an error if the title/version combo is completely invalid.

I think we need to get some people with factory 9.2 systems to check their nands.

Ok I finished my homebrew :)
It compares your installed NAND titles to the ones that should be in 9.2.0-20U (I used the CTR-N-HASE version from your list, since mine is odd).
Source is here: https://github.com/svanheulen/downgrade_check
Compiled version is here: https://github.com/svanheulen/downgrade_check/releases
There's plenty of room for improvement so feel free for fork it and send me pull requests.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it compares the version and the size, which I got the size of CTR-N-HASE from my odd version so that might show a mismatch even if the version matches. Can someone give me the size of the 0x200b version?

Where does it grab the installed titles and their versions from?
