I have Nintendont installed on my SD card, and GameCube roms load fine, but my Classic Controller Pro isn't recognised and button-presses have no effect (even clicking my Wiimote doesn't do anything).

Is there a patch I need to add to get these working? I purely downloaded the latest version of Nintendont last week from the main site.

Thanks

Thanks, yep I've seen the huge threads and it sounded like it should "just work" but then I spotted several references to patches at various points so just wondered if I was missing something.

It could well be because I got the controllers from China but they work fine for all the others EMUs on my WiiU so it struck me as odd.

Just so I'm 100% sure where is the best place to download the latest version of Nintendont?

(I got it from https://code.google.com/p/nintendon-t/)

D'oh. Nintendont is the only emulator that has this restriction right?
its not a restriction lol, nintendont does some insane hacks to use BT controllers in semi native GC code, so everything is very hardcoded and of course its very hardcoded with official products, fakes,3rd party controllers that use diferent code wont be recognized becuase they dont act exactly like the official stuff does.

Right, so next decision for me is whether I get a GC controller/adapter or Wii U Pro controller (apparently that works fine with Nintendont)

The GC might be best as it's supported in all emulators.

"Official" product this time ;)

My knockoff works, just need to use a wiimote+nunchuk first, then switch the knockoff to that player. (ie turn on wii mote, then controller, use wiimote a couple random seconds, turn off wiimote, controller takes over player 1.)

Works for me. You could try fiddling with it like that. Mine is a PowerA controller. Mini ftw!

the wiiu adapter wont work on any emulators at all on vwii, GC controller is only supported on wiis with gc ports, the adapter is just for smash4 and nintendont also gctovpad wiiu homebrew.

So which controller is best for a WiiU if I want to play:
- Nintendont
- Snes9x Gx
- FCE Ultra Gx
- Genesis Plus
via the Homebrew Channel?

WiiU Pro controller? I'd prefer one controller for all.

well all those apps do have a mod with wiiu pro controller but the only apps that oficialy suport it are nintendont and genesis plus for fce ultra gx and snes9x you will need to find unoficial mods but yeah for those wiiu pro is probably the best altough for nintendont the best controller for usre is wiiu gc adapter with GC controllers becuase your playing gc games with gc controller lol cant be more accurate than that xD.
