I never used SDF before and I tried to copy my cartridge save to the CIA save before testing if the CIA worked, but I received a lot of errors.

Nah that shouldn't be the issue. Worst case, delete the save data and try again. Or delete the CIA and reinstall it once more.

I think you just have a bad CIA tbh. Or something of the sort.

What exactly stops this from working with an exploit like the OOT one or WebKit?
Sorry I'm new so I don't quite understand the limitation or differences between each exploit.

I'm assuming the memory is setup differently ofc between each exploit but isn't the end result (kernel level code execution) the same idea?

If the math is correct and your n3dsxl/3dsxl has a firmware fit for either one than you know what you need to do,

For the time being, yes, but there is a high chance that this will get ported to spider exploit or MSET exploit, and even there is a high chance RXTools goes warez LEL.

3ds to cia can already make region free .cias. Since sig checks need to be patched out to run a CIA (except for the 12 legit ones), I don't see what the big deal is about simply patching the .cia and not the cfw or fw...

Although, I'm having an issue installing DLC for a certain cia that was made region free...
