Your kids must be the coolest kids in school. I am not sure how many kids have access to stuff like Gateway or Sky3DS or even know about it. I would have gone nuts if my parents gave me a flashcard for my Gameboy instead of buying each game and waiting an eternity for birthdays or Christmas.
Roms make good rewards for positive behavior. :). Their jaws dropped when I showed them Majoras Mask on a few days before it released here. They did have to tough it out with the 3DS until la few weeks ago and we don't have an Xbox or PSx. But they did have Acekards for the DSl and I repurposed a 500GB HD a few days after Christmas when we got a Wii years ago. There are still games on there they never even played. :)

They are kind of spoiled, I had to mow a lot of lawns to back in '79 to purchase my Atari. $136 was a lot for kid back then and all we had was a B&W TV. :)

I remember back when I had my hacked PS1 back in the day, was so fun, playing all these games out of nowhere without having to own them, Crash bandicoot, mickeys wild adventure etc.

Once you hack a system the game amounts are endless

We'll sort of. There are only 7GB left on the GW 64GB mSD, still plenty on the 32GB internal. I did stuff a bunch of the more educational/puzzle type games on there. One can hope. :)

My wife loved to play N2O on the PS1, it made me dizzy after a while. :)

So wait a second, the GW3D bug is caused by fake SD cards?
Only if 90% of the larger SD cards are fake. Lol. Good old GW PR at work.

I guess you missed this one. Most of the 32GB and up mSD cards will not show the GW in front of the version number in System Settings. It makes it unsettling to update emunand. There is a thread on how to use a sub disk imager and a partition program to move an emunand over to a larger card, so you just update emunand on the 4Gb. Easy just takes a while to write it out.

Emunand Tool is being updated but has a problem with injecting at the moment.

Oh, I knew about it I just taught that according do GW this bug occurs only if you have a fake SD card.

Is there any possible way to launch this without losing the save files on the actual OOT cartridge?

You'll still wipe them off the cart, but you could back then up then restore them later if you like:
-back up the cart's save via the gateway menu
-copy your save off the SD card onto your computer
-copy the gateway save onto the SD card
-restore it to the cart via gateway mode.

Shouldn't be a problem, even rev 1 was a 4.3FW card. The save is 128K so not sure how it will work with the GW dump but considering the restore works it should be fine to revert the cartridge back. I just ordered another gateway, a sky and two r4i's so I threw in a r4i save dongle for $15 just for the hell of it.

I have never done any save editing but I supose it may be possible to insert your save on slot 2 or 3 on the cart so you could still use it to play.

Oh thanks just practiced on my NSMB2 saves and it works! I'm assuming the OOT saves will be exactly the same? Just One file and everything is restored exactly how it was? Sorry for the questions, it's just that it's my friend's game and I really don't want to accidentally screw him over out of his saves.

You can install .cia games on emunand and play them with just a single gateway cart
SO essentially I would be able to launch Gateway EMunand on my n3ds by emulating OoT through SKY, then when emunand loads, remove the gateway card and allow my girlfriend to boot into it and I would be able to run my cias without the card once I was in emunand?

you mean the oot method? sure... i guess it might be a good idea maybe to buy a replacement cartridge thing to self replace in the future if needed :)

Yeah it could be... but I haven't seen any replacement cartridge readers around the market yet xD
Probably because the console itself is still quite new :D

great that the cartridge port is easily replaced on the n3DS then.......but lets face it, its still probably less cart switching than playing all original games

Haha agreed, I personally think finding the cartridge reader on the market will be harder than actually changing it... Looks easy enough (Thanks iFixit)
Give it time :P
