My 3DS is currently on 9.2, but I forgot to turn off wifi and now I keep getting pestered to update my system. Am I screwed? Should I just import a Japanese New 3DS, or, if that has the wrong firmware, an Australian one instead?
1. NopeSO i have two questions.
I would like to know if its possible to write saved data on original cartridges, like for example, if i'm playing LoZ with gateway and get my saved data in the sd, can i write that saved data to my original cartridge?.
And the second question; is there any way to install 3ds themes from the gateway?.
Thanks in advance.
You could backup your 9.2 nand if you're worried about accidentally hitting the update button. You just need a DS mode flashcard that works on 9.2 (Don't need the gateway red card)My 3DS is currently on 9.2, but I forgot to turn off wifi and now I keep getting pestered to update my system. 1. Backup SD card contents on both 4GB and 64GB cardok new question
so i have my sys at 4.5 and emu nand at 9.2 and i want to install my games as cia files on my 64 gb which is use right now to load in the gateway flash cart with 3ds roms.
so basically i want to switch my 4gb that is acting as internal sd card for the 3ds with the 64 gb and run the 64 as my emunand and internal storage for the 3ds so i can install my games as cia files
so my question is how do i go about this? if i extract my emunand from my 4gb sd card and get it to load on my 64 gb will it still be on emunand 9.2?
Alright thanks.1. Nope
2. Yes. All themes from US/EU/JP have been dumped as cia. You can install them with devmenu. Where do you find these cia files? Perhaps googling "3ds themes cia" and checking the site with iso in its name could help.

Depends. Japanese one is cheaper but Australian one is in English. Thanks! Although, I don't have one on me, but if just avoiding the update button will be good enough I'll be fine. I think.
But if I want a New 3DS LL, would I be better off ordering a Japanese one or Australian one?
Hmm not sure what you mean there. I run emunand and have the VC games in the same place as the 3ds and eshop games (Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies which works fine).
Do I need to do something differently for VC stuff?
Thanks a million veign and holy (I still dunno how to tag people on this website...)
I did update the emunand so I just formatted my bigSD and started over. I guess I'll have to wait till GW comes up with an emuNAND update.
Do I still need to use diskimager or with multirom support that's just obsolete?

sorry I'm new and just got my first 3ds xl, it's at version 8.X. Am I screwed? Is there any way for my 3ds to update to 9.0-9.2 even though 9.3 is the new update?
There are ways to install 3DSWare/Themes/DLC other than the eShop now--through files with extensions of .CIA. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I assume you are just installing the files through the eShop the old fashioned way.
In that respect, I don't know why you are getting black screens. Perhaps try running through classic rather than gateway, or vice versa?
I.. Think so? That new update will keep nagging you though.Noob question :
I'm on 8.1. By mistake, i started update to 9.3 in option menu.
I canceled it at 20% of the update. So i'm still on 8.1, and don't have theme swap or amiibo menu.
Then my 3DS have automatically downloaded the 9.3, but not installed it (Nintendo answer me yes or no, because they say the update is downloaded and ready).
Do you think that i can still make an offline update from a gamecard, for exemple from a 9.x card when it will be available ?
Thanks in advance
You can delete the update file from the SD card. It will be in Nintendo 3DS/[some random numbers]/[more random numbers]/extdata. Unfortunately you may have multiple of these so you're on your own figuring out which one.Noob question :

You can even delete them all if you're not worried about accidentally deleting something else.
I have bad news for you.Noob question :

No, they're just sdcard card files. If they're gone the 3ds just goes "i am designed for 8-14 year olds" and puts them backI'm sorry but I don't think anyone can help you in that regard. the risk is too tangible and huge for anyone to step forward.
Isn't this dangerous? they ARE system files right? wouldn't the brick be easy?
