Opposite here, my wii u is boxed up after i got it on launch day and is on stock firmware from day 1, and i use my wii with 4 wavebirds for GC/wii duties.

Nice! That's a good setup! I mainly bust the old Wii out when I go to friends houses to play some Melee, using Nintendont now haha. It's mainly cause I don't have to unplug the Wii U and cause two of my friends use the GC controllers, I use the WUPro and the other uses the DS3.

I made some tests, and this is what I got:

- I swaped the drivers (Nintendont, USBLoader, and the GC games on Port1, and only wii games at Port0) and used Nintendont
___when running directly from Nintendont's boot.dol, now Nintendont recognises the games on the usb (cause, as you thought, it's looking at Port1), but if I try enabling memorycard emu multi, the wii shuts down at "Checking FS... Error! 12 shutting down"... ...when trying to run it with Port0 empty, it gets stuck forever on "Checking FS..." (don't gives me the error)...
Ah, and all this things happened the same when turning memorycard emulation OFF
*snip rest of the post, relevant but too long*

to me it looks like the loader part and the kernel part are not working the same way to mount the drive/check FS.
It's like if the loader was using IOS58 and checking the first encountered drive (port1) to get the list of games and create the memory card, then launch the kernel part which loads from port0.

When games are on Port0, the memory card is created on port1 (first encountered drive), so kernel doesn't find it anymore, but find the game without problem when launched from USBGX (loader part is skipped, no need to list games).

To Howard or Fix:
Is kernel forced on port0? not using IOS58 default order anymore?
Is there a way to skip port1 if the paths games/memory cards are on port0 while two USB are connected?
a way to tell the loader part to use a specific port, or at least try to mount the other one if game/MC is not found?

Kirby Air Ride (E), F-Zero GX (E) and Nintendo Puzzle Collection (J) fully works with the Classic Controller.

However, I had pretty good results when I played Mario Kart Arcade GP2, I could control the menu with the CC. However, the game crashes at the camera, I don't remember if it was always like that. (Also, the game only works as an ISO, not as an Extracted game, which is too bad)

Got myself a copy of the MegaMan X collection. Raw dump here and the psx games work flawlessly albeit with weird lines in the graphics here and there but that's probably cause these games were meant for interlace screens. The fmv's work fine too. Gotta say I'm so freaking happy to be able to play these gems of my childhood on my gamepad :) Again I just can't express my gratitude to the programmers of Nintendont enough. Sorry, I'm too excited about this xD

Thanks for the helpful info, will fat32 cause me issues with wii games that are larger than 4gb? I remember reading that Xenoblade would freeze at some point.
4gb plus cant be handled on fat32 but i never had an issue by splitting them with ISO to WBFS program which has the option to split bigger than 4gb isos and i never found any issue with them never played xenoblade tough.

The Wiimote+Nunchuck combination is not a good choice as a replacement for a NGC controller, just because of the lack of a second analog stick, that alone is a big issue, now add to that that we only have the D-Pad and an A and B button at the range of our thumbs.

Well, Wiimote + Nunchuck don't give the full experincie, due the GameCube controller have 2 sticks, but well, it could work for some games that don't use the C-stick obligatory.

Well for people without a HID controller or a Wii with GC ports, or who want to play multi and don't have more than one HID controller or CC it could really really be helpful.

As for the buttons, only thing missing would be the d-pad of GC, but 90% of GC games ignored that anyway (and if i was bold, IR could easily substitute c-stick for fps & tps as wiimote blows away dual analog).

Can anyone of you compile a mod with the following button mapping for NUNCHUCK & WIIMOTE:
  • Gamecube L = Nunchuck Z (left trigger/shoulder button)
  • Gamecube R = Wiimote B (right trigger/shoulder button)
  • Gamecube A = Wiimote A (big main button)
  • Gamecube B = Nunchuck C (secondary button)
  • Gamecube C-Stick = Wiimote d-pad (or IR, like Not64)
  • Gamecube analog stick = Nunchuck analog stick
  • secondary Gamecube buttons X & Y =Wiimote - and + buttons
  • secondary Gamecube button Z = Wiimote 1 button
  • Gamecube Start button = Wiimote 2 button

pointing and aiming with the wiimote will never happen, heck even move like pulling left and up wont happen be happy if the buttons ever get configured.

For nunchuk buttom mapping alone doesnt do it, you need to read the extension to see if its a nunchuck first and then do more code to incorporate him alongside the other bt controllers and so on, it needs much more code than just buttom mapping.

First thanks for the god Job.
I need help playing Mario Kart DD.
With PS3 Controller everything is working. I updatet to 2.153 and wanted to Play with my Wii U Pro Controller.
In Nintendont I set HID to "on" and number of Controllers to "2".
I tried it with the controller.ini for the PS3, with the one for Pro Controller for Mayflash and without controller.ini but nothing works.
I thougt now the Wii U Pro Controller is working. Am I wrong or did I something wrong?
The Idea was playing Mario Kart DD with 2 Players. Two PS3 Controllers may be fine too.

Midway Arcade Teasures 2 and 3 do not load any games (and can anybody confirm Offroad Thunder works in any form? It always freezes on the title screen for me in DIOS MIOS), Smuggler's Run boots to an error screen, Ikaruga doesn't play any music for me, 007 Nightfire boots to a black screen, Rainbow Six 3 black screens after intro. Also does anybody know why Nintendont just shuts down whenever trying to load from CFG USB loader? I hear it just doesn't work in that particular loader. Also the controls to Mario Kart Arcade GP seem to be way more broken now using the GC controller, maybe it works with another controller. And wondering realistically when networking support for triforce games will be added. And another question, does the increased clock speed of the Wii actually help with lag in games? Does anybody have any proof of this?

Thanks for the great work guys! I always look forward to every release.

I don't mean to be mean, but this is an enthusiast application on an enthusiast forum and such a workaround for those who are not willing to buy a common, dirt-cheap USB HID controller, a CC, or an adapter for one of their other controllers would really be catering to people who probably don't even care enough to adapt to such an obscure and unrealistic control scheme to make sure of it. It's a waste of time.

Found out why usbgx has better compatibility than wiiflow with nintendont. Usbgx and now even cfg are using command line arguments to boot nintendont loader. Is wiiflow ever going to catch up or shall we forget using one loader for everything? If I am wrong and other users have wiiflow working with all their gamecube games and the latest build of nintendont, please can they share how and i will eat my hat!
