So I'm happily Gateway-ing on 2.1, never messed with emuNAND and don't care to. But I understand that you've got to update emuNAND to 7.1 to access the eShop and download official patches/updates to games. So my question is - are any of those patches worth the trouble of messing with them?

Pokemon X/Y has a patch that corrects a save glitch in Lumiose City. Without it, if you save in the outer city ring (outside in the street), the game will freeze anytime that you try to load it. Have not tried it for the ROM, but it was a big deal after the launch of the game.

It may be ancient, but I don't think that they have made a cart revision with the glitch patched. As a matter of fact, all of the major ROM dumps for the game are unpatched since they will prompt for an update. If you do not download the available patch, my advice would be not to save outside in the outer ring of Lumiose City.

:P that patch is ancient...

Obviously a troll.

Anywho, the Pokémon X/Y 1.2 patch is the only one I can think of that is worth grabbing out of the games I've played. There's a Mario Kart 7 patch, but that one seems to fix a track shortcut or something that can be exploited when playing online, which can't be done with a ROM on Gateway anyway.

No sir! But that patch is ancient. It was available a few weeks after release. So I assume that Gateway runs with that?

EDIT: I see now... patches are not possible... my bad!

The way game patches work, the fact that they're "ancient" means nothing with 3DS because not everyone owns every single game at launch that has a patch for it.
