I do have an update, actually. You should probably take it with a grain of salt, but people over on the Maxconsole forums have received e-mails back from Gateway stating that 2.0 is done, and they're simply in the testing phase for various consoles/regions now. So time frame depends on how many problems they run in to, I suppose.

yes, since a week ago or more.

A week is a relatively short period of time for testing every possible hardware/region configuration. And there inevitably will be problems they run in to and have to add/change code for. It just depends on the scope of those problems and how much time they're spending investigating or repairing bricked consoles.

Also, the posts I've seen on that only began about three days ago.

but they said about releasing the 2.0b3 version if the testing phase takes longer time than expected.

at least we have 1.2 to work with most games that have come out for the 3ds. which leaves us anything new to come out. I mean we could just have 2 3ds 1 to play back roms that 1.2 supports and get another one to play anything future. at least we know that with having 2 systems we don't have to worry about bricks happening. and with the 1.2 with as many 3ds roms that work on that's just that many games we wouldn't have to buy that we enjoy. kinda have a jump start on the games the 3ds offers.

just my 2 cents.

Yes really, their cart was supposed to support Animal Crossing and a lot of other features from launch. The fact that they could have gotten a beta launcher with MultiROM support from Gateway is getting more obvious through the weeks.

This is the most ridiculous theory that gets spread around here all the time. It took a month after MT-card's release for Gateway to even show a video of multirom working. If there really was some Gateway beta with multirom support they would have shown a video of it at least.

Yes, it should have been due to that awesome integrated menu that also reads game icons, Gateway hasn't shown incomplete features of their work outside of the unreleased 1.3c beta.

lol, so they don't, except for when they do.

What about the NAND save games? They showed it working on one rom per sd card, but not with multirom. That seems pretty incomplete to me.

The whole "gateway must have someone leaking betas in their internal testing" thing is ridiculous, not to mention the people spewing these facts somehow believe Gateway is going to let it happen 3 times.

Just be patient.
Old Gateway news said:
Today we will briefly take a break from our intense development cycles to present you with our latest progress on the MultiROM functionality for the Gateway 3DS 2.0 release. But first a few words from the team.

It's not that ridiculous with all the money involved, but yeah, at this point they should have gotten rid of that person of their team.

Nothing is going to be happen till Mid-Feb as it's the lunar year for them. They celebrate till Feb 8 and all production/work stops during that time.

Crown3DS released!

Great news! We are proud to announce that: Crown3DS, the first genuine 3DS flashcard in the world, its original testing card now can run 3DS rom game - "splinter cell3d.3ds" on 3DS V2.1.0-4 successfully(see more details in the above youtube video)! Many thanks to all of our developing guys, it couldn't make without their several months hardwork....

Next, we will dump more 3DS rom games, and will do further firmware testing and keep structure design updated for more high compatibility and stability.

The more specific info of Crown3DS card will be released sooner or later, to be expected!

the update is software only, nobody knows where the devs are based, they can easily update from anywhere in the world...not saying they will....just that it doesnt matter where the card is manufactured
