Hacking Region Free Cart Loading with EmuNAND No flashcards

any games that came with 6.x update use a different key to encrypt saves, emunand does not use any new keys, so it is unable to decrypt any saves for games which use the new key if played on a retail 6.x+ console, but all emunands use the same "old" key so emunand to emunand are cross compatible, retail to retail are cross compatible but if you have already played on a retail console...no,the emunand has no way of knowing how to decrypt the save,as it doesn't have access to the new key, so it cant read your save and you will have to start over....this also applies the other way, if you play on emunand then put your cart in a retail console it tries decrypting with the "new" key and obviously fails as its not been encrypted with the new key

I guess this is also the case for eShop versions of retail games? Which basically means I'm stuck on emuNAND f I want to play them, right?

yes, you dont need EmuNAND just to play retail Pokemon, you may want EmuNAND to grab the 1.2 Update patch from teh E-shop tho

So the patch downloaded from emuNand would work even when not using emuNand?

yes, it is just saved to the SD

It can only be done in -4.5 3DS with a flashcard that work DS games, right ? if the flashcard work in new versions, it not possible?
If I patch this on the console, if I update it, will lost he patch? There any way to do a "unofficial update" preventing lost the stufss, just like is possible on wii?
I don't get well about DS games, it still will be possible to play retail DS games on it ?
Also if have any others risk of using this?

no 4.1>4.5 3DS firmware Only
if you are on higher or update to higher after it will not longer work, only way to get the higher Firmware is using the EmuNAND feature
DS retail games still work on this, but you will need to reapply the DS Patch to get back into Region Free 3DS Mode

I see but I still a bit confused lol
I can get a righer firmewware by emunand but if I play a retail DS game I will lost the patch? it will be possible to do again if "updated"like this?
with the emu and patchs I will be able play new games like Zelda or pokemon XY ?

EmuNAND doesnt update the core console NAND, so the system is still on 4.5 and the EmuNAND which can be 7.1.0 is loaded ontop

when you power off the system it returns to 4.5 until you boot into the EmuNAND and Region Free mode again
it is not a Permanent Mod

You can update with a retail cart that has a firmware of 4.1-4.5. A list can be found at: here

I mean, that would give you both worlds of Gateway. Normal carts AND roms.

He wants a gateway launcher with region free classic mode, the default gateway launcher is not region free in classic mode...only gateway mode

Don't think theirs much need for sarcasm

Maybe email gateway about it, now this is out they might make classic mode region free in the next update, should be pretty simple for them to add it

I don't think that it's that easy. There are only a few codes edited.
